Best off benching games or 3dmark 11/3dmark firestrike. Heaven/Valley favour Nvidia cards heavily (extreme tessellation) once you move up to the top tier of gpu's.

Typical of Heaven.. run it full screen.. and do one run through.. then benchmark it. (something to do with loading textures etc). Second run will have higher minimum fps. (make sure in full screen as well.. and v-sync off!)

I've just got mine and keep getting a black screen when windows is loading

You need to run it again in full screen mode, keep the same settings but just set to 1080p full screen mode.

edit: and at stock clocks plz.

Minimums are sometimes broken. Average FPS should be 40-50fps range.

I believe you need to put on the asus bios in order to get control of voltage (daft, but true until another tool comes out). There is a guide to do it on the forum.

No problem ! i will do some better benchmarks of Heaven 4.0

for the vendor i tryed calling the hotline but they were to stupid to understand the problem, he didn't see the difference between a 290x and a 290...lol? and that what i got delivered shouldn't be on sale.... he just said send it back before the 7 day thing.... :eek:

The card will go back after the weekend and i sure will never buy from them again ( don't worry it aint in the UK it's a french online retailer )

They've broken NDA which technically can land them in a world of **** if AMD felt it had put the card in a bad light.

Do they understand the difference a £100 pounds (120 euro?) make? Possibly legal action from AMD? lol. Brilliant, although ignorance is possibly a good tactical defence.

Well it's looking good i must say.

Just hit the 1100mhz mark with my 290 original clocked @ 947mhz

ventilation @ 55% ( abit noisy? or not )
temp: 60-70 max

getting 10k on firestrike aswell

Awesome little cards ain't they, if they release at around £360-380ish they will sell like crazy.

I wanna get 290x CF to replace my 670SLI will my [email protected] be holding them back. My monitor is 1440p so not exactly a small screen.

I would get a 2600K at the minimum, some games do like hyperthreading. 4.6 should be attainable on a 2600K, although some people might just tell you to try to get closer to 5GHz on the 2500K if you can.
