Happy to bud, bare with me and i'll get it down asap, i'm not a huge fan of Hairworks if i'm honest, the performance vs eye candy ratio is pretty crap.

I personally love the look, and that's why I'm specifically asking for performance numbers with it on. I feel like switching to avoid issues, but I want to know if the performance is there for me on the red side.

Another one to scrutinize my tech rants! :p

Also Matt, you wouldn't happen to have been playing the Witcher 3 with hairworks and HBAO+ enabled at 1440p recently have you? With performance numbers for Xfire Fury Xs?

I have it but it's not installed at the moment I'm afraid. As Reece is going to post some benches for you, I won't bother downloading it.

Here you go N19h7m4r3,

As requested and to the best of my ability.

To confirm, my system is in sig, cpu @4.6 and Fury X's at stock.

Tested the same locations and times, with the game maxed out @1440P with hairworks enabled, the only changes were "Hairworks presets" from High to low where mentioned.

There you go, as to the performance and average fps, with the game truly maxed out with Hairworks etc, fps is great, for the most part in the high 60s-70s, i've never seen it drop below 55fps.

With Hairworks on the low preset fps is pretty much the same, but on average i gain it seems around 5-10fps in certain areas, while others show no improvement at all.

With Hairworks off, my averages are around 85-100fps.

As to scaling, it seems fine, for the most part cards are pegged at 99%, with drops to around 77% for brief moments in towns.

I wondered if you could reuse the original backplate with the EK waterblock but apparently not, the holes line up but the screws dont connect with anything.

I have not tested the card extensively yet or tried to overclock but I did run skyrim for a while and didnt notice any extra speed over the 970 that I've been using, a little surprising but again it could be a skyrim specific issue, I am running at sub 1080p though and people say that fury has some sort of disadvantage there.

I will try more things when I have installed the card fully.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Let me just say that at most I notice a 5fps difference in favour of SLI 980Ti's in Heirarch Square, but in Frichlow you're 10 FPS faster in Patch 1.07. My cards were hitting mid 40's there especially near that damned Gargoyle spot.

I did notice you have more jaggies in Hierarch Square for some reason, and NPC texture popin is there. Although that's entirely down to CDPR's latest patch.

I have to say with hairworks enabled I'm really impressed, and I wonder if you've tried lowering the Tessellation in the Catalyst Control centre from x64 to like x16 time. Apparently that gives 90% similar visual with a good performance improvement.

All in all 'm really impressed with your cards, and by how well they're handling maxed out Hairworks. Seems that Xfire scaling is really helping.

I also notice a distinct difference in colour pallete between NVIDIA and AMD, although it might also just be down to cloud cover in your game at the time.
Here's my Hierarch Square screenshots at 12pm game time as well.

Now, if I do swap and get two Fury X cards I think I'll be rather happy. I'll just need to flog my G-Sync panel and get that lovely Asus FreeSync to replace it also.
