I think you have the Amp Extreme (unless you RMA'd the card) but I'm not sure what Zotac's policy is on removal of the cooler, best make sure it doesn't invalidate warranty as the thread below is vague.

I e-mailed Zotac and they said cooler removal voids the warranty which in this day and age is rubbish!

This quite frankly needs to change in line with other manufacturers. It is quite clear if someone has damaged a card due to mal handling.

Have e-mailed their main warranty address to see what they say but I expect the same reply.

Wonder if Gibbo can get in touch with his contacts and put the pressure on :D

Seems i missed the "RMA" part out for the G1, had the worst coil whine I've ever come across while being totally unstable at the same time. While this Kingpin is something else :) benchmarks inc later this week when i get some free time.

Just got my EVGA classified today, really pleased with it. Out of the box it boosts to 1405mhz but drops to a rock solid 1392mhz after 64 degrees i think it was. It runs at 50-55% fan speed to maintain 80 degrees on the witcher 3 maxed out, no AA at 4k. The noise is about the same as my corsair AF140 led fans at full speed in the case so it is not noisy to me. Tried a quick overclock and as soon as i broke 1500mhz i had artifacts show up on the witcher 3. I only gained 2.3fps at most so it's not worth bothering and i'll run at the stock OC, maybe with power limit set at the 115% max in afterburner. Turned off the white led logos using geforce experience so it looks nicer. Very happy with the card.

I've discoverd over the last wee while that there may be a throttle limit in the bios that drops the boost clock at around 60-62 degrees (as uve seen its not
Much, mine dropd only 12mhz but it still drops) but as soon as the temp drops below 60 the max boost returns, so id hazard a guess your rock solid stable at 1405 and its just the built in temperature limit as opposed to bad overclock

Solved all this rubbish.

Downloaded my bios.

Tweaked the settings.

Flashed card.

So long power limits. Temp limits everything.

Now getting a fixed voltage and a fixed boost. No fluctuations.

Will try at the weekend to up the voltage by afterburner to see the real max.

Currently flashed for 1430 as a boost.

So I should now be able to add MHz without worrying about limits

Hi all! I received my 980 ti this evening and I am very impressed overall!

Is there any reason why I would be getting dips to 40fps in Ryse? I have most settings maxed (bar shadows).

Thinking it may be my i5 2500 (non K therefore no overclock) holding this down or are the games just poorly optimised?

Playing Dying Light at 1080P at the min and it is totally locked at 60fps....
