Without a doubt, they're not going to make a new engine then just use it for one game. It will be used for all GTA's this gen then perhaps a tweaked version of it for next gen as well.

It is the same engine, just very highly tweaked and optimised.
This games need to bring back the fun of GTAIII and VC. If it has any of the pointless 'socialising' garbage of GTAIV then I will be giving it a miss.
I want a guy to sell me guns from the boot of his car because I stole drugs from his enemy and broke his brother out of jail using a radio controlled helicopter, not because I played pool and watched Ricky Gervais try to be funny with him.

I just hope they make it run nicer. GTA:IV felt sluggish and like a bag of bolts.

I really loved the whole business part of vice city, made you actually feel like a bad ass! Going round collecting pay etc mansions with helipads!
Also hopefully they wont use team bondi's face stuff from la noire, i dont want real actors faces in decent games!

but red dead looked awesome!
We will see come trailer time! Country side areas, business's, and jets with a world big enough for them would be all i ask for!

I am glad I'm not the only one who hated the relationship crap.
Yes the game mechanic had its plus points like getting Little Jacob to meet yous o you can buy guns, but it was crap having them ring you all the time then penalise you when you said no thanks.

Wasnt this about the same time of year that gta iv was announced? Was a long wait after that first trailer!

i just hope they go back to the way san andreas was. that game was the best. sure it didnt have the best graphics but it was fun to play. gameplay>graphics

San Andreas has no better gameplay than GTA 4, it was just a different type of gameplay.

GTA was fun up to San Andreas where it started to get a bit too serious and hard work. GTAIV was far to serious and realistic. I got bored after a day and sold it.
Vice City has not been bettered imo.
They need to go back to it being a properly fun game with silly stuff in.
