Cheers all, kind words are appreciated. :)

I think I've passed the point of return with this now, I've got to the point of "this satisfies a craving, means I don't smell, and I get to tinker about with stuff and things" so I'm pretty happy with it all. Even managed a heavy night out on the beer on Saturday night. Drained the battery and made a good dent on another but made it through.

So... Terry Tibbs time... tanks. Talk to me. :D

It is a great hobby and I am pleased to hear you are getting on well with it so far. It is just better in every aspect as opposed to smoking. :)

Yeah, it is a bit suspect.
I just read that article too and mine look like the Ecolux ones fwiw. The top and bottom ends anyway.

You should be good to go in that case if they are not getting warm. It is a very valid concern, and it is worrying that these fake batteries appear to be flooding the market. :(

Ooo that's quite handy tool that. cheers! From my calculations though im no expert, it would turn out to cost roughly 40p per 10ml if I mixed it my self.
My current pay is £1 per 10ml, but iv found a website that sells it in upto 10litre barrels haha and there it costs 50p per 10ml for 500ml, or 45p per 10ml for 1 litre or 35p per 10ml for 5 litre.

So I think ill just get it from that website rather than faffing around mixing my self :p Although iv not tried it from there yet but Iv ordered a 100ml bottle to try which worked out at 9 quid which is 90p per 10ml, if its tasty like what I use now, ill just buy bulk from there and save my self a lot of money :)

Its been mentioned before to you bud,but seriously think about what you are vaping there. The cheapest you can buy would make it a much higher risk of diacytol in there as well and the amount you vape makes that very dangerous. Thats the chemical responsible for popcorn lung,a uncureable lung disease thats both very painful and mucho deadly.

Think about what you are doing to yourself for the sake of some cheap eliquid

Fake VTCx batteries are hard to spot, only real way to know its to test them, like torchy did.

UKECig Store were selling fakes, there's a massive thread on UKV, they are finally recalling any they sold from their new stock I believe.

This is 'part two' of what happened: http://ukvapers.org/Thread-Paypal-refunded-my-payment-to-UKEcigstore-for-the-fake-VTC5-batteries

Nice setup Balky. :)

Well done guys :)

Does anyone know how to go about testing batteries?
I have a couple of VTC5's and they seem to match up visually with pics of genuine stuff, but since the market is awash with fakes, I'd like to make sure if possible.

They don't get warm or anything and they do the job. It's just... Y'know?

Get the blue samsung 25R's. As good as the vtcs' and as they not as well known no one seems to be bootlegging them as of yet

Thanks mate, will add to OP :)

I think the Sammy's are only 20 amp continuous?

yeah someone reccomended me this one before, just unsure on the whole rectangular look of it lol... but it might be worth it anyway

Vision spinner 2 or a Vamo may be worth a look if you don't like 'box' mods. :)

Any idea on how he went about testing them?
I have an uncle who's well into his electronics and he might have the gear to do it. Should probably just give him a bell actually.

Yeah, I was looking at those, or a certain similar model. They seem to be well recommended.

Just resize it in MS paint :)

I'd say to grab the Estick. There are times that you may want a bit more than the 11W offered on the MVP2.

I second this, the iStick is a vey good deal!

Thanks guys. I heard some bad things about them but always good things about the MVP. That being said there is a biggish difference in price the MVP being more expensive.

Only heard good things about the MVP. But i like some other features about Eleaf Istick.

Do either of you use this one?

The MVP has been around along time and has become a staple of the vaping world (for good reason, its a tried and tested device).

The istick is a relatively new kid on the block. I have tried both devices and each have pros and cons but on balanced I preferred the iStick.

As with everything different people like different things, so while we can recommend what we like, your opinion might differ. :)
