didnt know video cameras had shutter speeds
They wont have an actual shutter in the same way a stills camera does but the film still needs to be exposed for a variable amount of time to obtain the correct exposure.

Having done that kind of speed on a bike, I'm pretty sure that is indeed in MPH.

love bikes, very good for going fast on but different story when you come off it at those speeds.

Don't think its going to be a 600 at that speed, however clocks look like old Honda style to me my old CBR600FS clock was very similar.
watched it afew times now, its defo an R1, same year as mine as well. and the bike will get up to those speeds in that time, I can vouch for that 
It really is tricky trying to work out if its MPH or KPH or not though as its clearly not a great qualty camera so its not giving a great sense of speed, hes also slightly banked over at one point I think, iv been thoses speeds on that bike an trust me, they dont turn well, barely at all.
Its also really easy to swap the dash from KPH to MPH, you just hold the 2 buttons on the dash down.

Ive completely done a uturn on my earlier thoughts and now believe the video is mph.
On the r1 display mph is always displayed top right and kmh is displayed bottom right.
In the video the digits which you cant quite read are in the top right of the screen which means speedo is reading in mph

That video really doesnt look right at all!!
When hes doing 40mph at the beginning traffic is hardly moving
I'll put my neck out and say it looks about right.
You can almost make out the numberplate of the biker in front in a couple of places in that video, maybe they'll chase him instead - although I suppose the Police could subpoena Youtube or wherever it got posted to originally for the IP address/account details of the person who uploaded it.
