Why can no-one spell liscensce?

That is an American 'drivers license' which is spelt license. I am perfectly aware that in Britain license is a verb and licence is a noun. People mix them up all the time and that is what annoys me. That doesn't detract from my post at all.

Sorry - you're not convincing anyone. You messed up :D When you're talking about licences is Hungary, Borneo, India etc would you write it in their native language too?

"When I went to the States, the ice-cream was a weird color. Didn't detract from the flavor though! Almost as good as UK flavours."

It makes no difference what country its from, your writing in ENGLISH, therefore you should ruddy well spell in it.

Try writing in English using Welsh spelling rules ;)

...those are all mistakes that annoy me. But Lisence and Licence are so similar, and their meanings so similar, that really you've gotta be a bit of a nazi to care about it! Another 'acceptable' mistake is the Your/You're one, and capitalising words is another I don't care about.

It's not as if we're reading a book or a newspaper article where the authors are actually getting paid to write, we're here for a chat, and to be honest moaning about the way things are spelt is as bad as moaning at someone for not pronouncing their T's. If someone's talking like a complete chav then OK we switch off, just like we do here with text message talk, but something silly (not pronouncing T's, lisence vs licence, your vs you're) really isn't something to moan about IMO. This is a forum, not a £44.99 Wetherspoon's special hard-back edition set of intellectual discussions.
