it's more than that, he's milking every last drop. he never used to post like that. it's only been the last week or so.

i used to think he was an old git by the good english he used and was quite surprised (in a good way) to find out he was so young. :)

but this parentheses crap recently has been pathetic and he deserves all the abuse he gets. attention seeking. that's all it is. sorry angus, no offence but that's how i see it. :/

Get a grip will you:rolleyes:, just because he posts the way he does DOES not mean hes entitled to abuse as that, in itself is breaking the forum rules.

What do you mean by "no offence"? How can I not take "offence" to this?

If in fact I am "attention seeking" then I have been doing so on several different forums for an extended period of time (and the only problems I have ever had with my posting style have been in the past week on OcUK).

Why do I "deserve all the abuse he [ I ] gets [get]"? (The spacing ["[ I ]"] is due to a grammatical error incurred when I posted in the correct format). Maybe people should try to understand that when people over-analyse the posts of another user they will spot traits more easily. Also I dislike to argue in a bad style. My use of brackets is generally to ensure that there could be no misunderstanding of what I mean (although many people disagree [I cannot see how it could cause confusion however]); is it not predictable (obvious [dare I say?]) that this practice will increase in argument? When one is in an argument (or debate [people would contest this I am sure]) one tends to have to be incredibly precise lest one be willing to waste hundreds of posts in order to sort out the posts which have misunderstood something; this is a possible reason for an increase in brackets.

You could use the "Quick Reply" box or the "Post Reply" button to respond.

I wouldn't say you "fail" at English (:p), and I would suggest you re-read the post to ensure that you understand the meaning.

I have re-read the post and it seems comprehensible.

A legend is born.

I wouldn't say you "fail" at English (:p)

neither would i. of course i was being sarcastic but you knew that. ;)

ok i can't be bothered to capitalise my sentences but other than that, i think i'm good.

I have re-read the post and it seems comprehensible.

see this is where you and the rest of us differ. seriously, i'm not joking, that last post is unreadable to the majority of the posters here. now i don't know what's happened because i always used to be able to understand your posts. now you probably have no idea who i am as i rarely post in GD, but i am familiar with your previous posting style. i've always thought it was a little formal for a forum but other than that, no complaints. you used to be perfectly understandable. where did it all go wrong?

([{you}]) ([{deserve}]) ([{this}]) ([{because}]) ([{you}]) ([{take}]) ([{it}]) ([{to}]) ([{far}]).

([{you}]) ([{do not}]) ([{need}]) ([{this}]) ([{many}]) ([{brackets}]) ([{to}]) ([{explain}]) ([{what}]) ([{you}]) ([{write}])

I didn't actually (that is not a lie before you try to state otherwise [I do not like to lie]). I was making the point that the "e" in the word "english" (your grammar) was not capitalised; it was intended to be surreptitious, but I do not know if that worked.

Angus is one of the best members we have at the moment. It's funny how correctly he speaks, and all the proper grammar he uses. Better sign off your posts though, this will gain you respect, or so he says :p

Yet he can't express himself properly...

His grammar isn't correct though, the excessive nested brackets are what's cheesing everyone off.

Unrelated:

Angus' post count is at 1337. :D

Thanks for the compliment. I just post how I think, and I find it hard to understand why the other members of the forums (who dislike my posting style) cannot understand (and subsequently deal with) my posts.
