2 x 8800 GTX SLI will last how long as a ruff guess for games at 1920x1200 on max ?

Put it this way...

If it plays Bioshock at the moment, the chances are it will probably be fine for years to come, simply because games will require DX10 to really look pretty and the card is not DX10 capable. This means it will take none of the performance hit that the 8800/2900 series of cards will in such games.

If you want DX10 spangly bits, then you need a newer card.

Nah, not too bothered at the moment with DX10. I am going to wait for the next gen but I just bought a new Dell 24" and I became suddenly worried. I am not too fussy though about dropping details a bit and for what I have seen this card shines at high res (thanks to the large memory).

Thanks for the answer though.

Hell yeah it does. Your machines a beast, nice clock on the 2900XT by the way. Did you have to change voltages/cooling?

no changes to the voltages or cooling (if you are referring to the gfx card) the cpu voltage is at 1.39V stable.

Nice, is the memory actually clocked at 1950 or is it at something like 950 in the clocking applications?

How hot does the card get?

975 as its ddr its actually running at 1950, it idles at 46 degrees, loads at 75 which is perfectly fine for this card.

Cooler than mine :P. Does your Corsair HX520 have the 8pin pci-e connector? I've heard that new batches have them but nobody has confirmed it.

Cheers

Is that with the fan on silent? I can limit the fan to 25% so it's silent and in a lot of games its around 75-84 degrees.

My HX520W only has one 8pin connector, but its for a motherboard I think.

It's not a 7950GT ... it's 2 of those in SLI and 1gig of DDR3 ... :) I know that it matches the 8800GTS in terms of performance more or less. I was hoping that it would though.

I also got a Quad core running at 3.4Ghz. I mainly play Supreme Commander, Bioshock ... and I will play Quake Wars and Crysis when they come out.

Well I have the same card (7950GX2) and BioShock runs pretty well for me. I use 1600x900 at the moment and get around 50+fps on average with max detail on and VSYNC on (most areas 60 but drops now and again).

The game is a bit much for my system at 1920x1080 (unless the vsync is off) which is what my TV is native but still looks pretty incredible esp compared to the 360 version.

Thanks for the feedback mate. I have slightly better chip than yours so hopefully that should make a small difference and I don't really mind not having AA on to be honest. I will post my impressions once I get my Dell 2407WFP.
