That's far more polite than the way I would have said it.

Meh, get over it tbh. You don't have to post you know. theres an ignore button.

Perhaps I can't get my point across without seeming arrogant but I couldn't really care less as its bloody games console after all. People need to chill out and not be so snappy at me.

I'm a nice boy though :( lol

I browse AVforums regularly and they are more knowledgeable on TVs/Sound, wasn't meant to snubb console users but they tend not to be glued up on technical details.

Glued up?

If you're going to AVforums to post with the big boys make sure you get someone to proof read your posts first ;)

.. guffaw ..

For the record, I like many of the 'console users' on this here overclocking forum used to be a PC gamer who didn't believe you could play a fps on a console too.

Then I grew up.

Sure thing mate but the last time i checked you couldn't play CSS, BF2 or any other worthwhile online FPS on consoles.

Aw diddums, I don't really care mate, there's no need to get all keyboard warrior on my ass.

Stop assuming kiddies on the net annoy me :p

CS is on Xbox, Battlefield 2 is on 360. Just a for your information. I hope you find what you are looking for mate, AVforums are more knowledgeable when it comes to very technical stuff regarding transfers, sound system setups, televisions etc. All we do is press buttons and make person go bang bang with a shooty stick.

(worth remembering Halo 2 is one of the most popular FPS around, with only CS1.6 having more users)

Go back to my point about controllers for those types of games.

I think we are going around in circles. I think we have reached the conclusion of this thread now really.

That we all have our own opinions? Why yes, of course. Unfortunately it's not that black and white, otherwise this forum would barely reach the size it is.

But the same game played with a KB/ mouse would be even better which what I'm trying to get at.
But it doesn't, Halo is a perfect example. Terrific with a control pad, poor with a mouse and keyboard.

Your elaborate explanation about slow aiming, etc makes no sense. The point is that you are supposed to react quickly and kill.
In terms of realism towards having to track onto an enemy or whipping your aim straight onto someones head with a mouse and keyboard. All games do tend to feel very similar with a mouse and keyboard.

I think I'll post a pic now to take it on tangent.

Has anyone with a PS3 tested it on 720p and 1080p? I know the games are internally rendered at the same res but is there much advantage with 1080p for blueray at least?

Also LPCM sound would be a good thing. I should have gone for the Onkyo AMP but I'm not sure if its as good as the sony sonically which seemed at the time t get rave reviews.

I have a 1080p Plasma. Obviously it looks mindblowing on Blu Ray and games as its 100% more pixels. I still put it on and think wow at the million extra pixels. You can literally walk up to my 50" screen and look at a small section to see how fine it looks.

stuff like Ridge Racer 7, Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Gran Turismo HD are all 1080p native @ 60fps(no scaling). a lot of the Playstation Network digital distrubtion games are 1080p native and fantastic games too. It blows away the 360 here and is a good showcase of how powerful the machine is. Blu Ray needs no intro as Ps3 is currently the best player. HDMI1.3 tv that i have brings out amazing visuals, HDMI 1.3 gives you the option of deeper blacks without loss in detail.

I post on AVforums by the way been an avid Av user find it awesome as games machine and the fun is only starting as the games are now starting to get released. It will be at worst roughly even with the 360 as it gets the games this christmas it missed out on by not launching early. Fifa 08 demo this Thursday for example(footie games were missing!). For sound Ps3 frequently uses uncompressed 7.1 studio quality sound. 192Khz/24bit sound. Well beyond any pc or console game. I havent got my receiver yet tho but i will have one anytime with my new speakers. :D

I keep my PC for the occasional gem that could never happen on consoles. This year Stalker was that gem, other stuff like RTS are also PC only games (although Halo Wars may change this) Trackmania United was another great game on PC this year that has no console equivilant. However the majority of great games are now console releases, because its where the moneys at.
