OcUK 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 - Rubbish?

The problem with Ballastix seems to be durability when overclocked, so don't go too high. I'll be using them for the next system too, but just cause it can run at the speed a month or so doesn't mean it's perfect.

OK, I'm keeping mine at 1GHz 5-5-5-15 using 2.2V as suggested in EPP2 SPD - we'll see if they last...

Just installed the Ballistix, they do 950MHz 4-4-4-12 and I've got them running at 1GHz 5-5-5-15 (high as I've gone), both 2.2V, and am very happy with that.

IMHO these are a bargain at the moment, much more so than the OcUK sticks, almost tempted to buy another set.

Hopefully getting a refund via RMA on the OcUK sticks.

Keep going, one of my pc5300 c3 sets of ballistix does 1400mhz 5-5-5-15 2.25v :) (thanks cob ;))

Does kinda suggest the title of my thread has some degree of truth, no?!
He was talking about the crucial ballistix wasn't he ? Although my set of them is great, running 800mhz 3338 very happily, im sure i could tighten the timings...just not too bothered about it lol

That's a great speed to be getting :)
They'll probably last, think problems are with over 2.3V or so.
But tell me if they crash within a month, i need to know if they're fine for my friends rig.

Im running my PC8500 2Gb Ballistix that I got for £100 new @ 492 4-4-4-12 @ 2.1V and they were table at 510 4-4-4-12 @ 2.15V

Mobo won't go higher but 550 5-4-4-12 was fine :D
