Depends, most games are short single player, as there designed to be MP these days. Single player is just usually an add on, to say it has sp capability.

Managed to connect to a decent server and was having a blast. It's great fun when there isnt lag. I did notice some 'bottlenecking' on the church map but i'm sure it wont be long before people are creating their own larger, more open maps :)

Yeah, you get a good game now and then. When the dedicated servers are out I just hope there are different spawn points otherwise Allies chuting down really do have an advantage.

I like the single player element, but the multiplayer has serious downs syndrome...
no connection for me at any rate. I've opened ports checked firewall and antivirus and a host of other suggestions - no dice cannot connect/connection lost/disconnected at loading screen.

The movement is a little annoying, I think it's going to be put in a patch though as a lot of people have had negative things to say about it.

You can turn that off in the setup options if you like

Bottom drop down bar (can't remember what it says) I just disabled it

Have you watched the training videos for GDF and Strogg? Spawn camping is encouraged as a valid tactic.

I guess we better get used to it.

Now i'm usually pretty good at games especially First Person Shooters, but i'm having real trouble with the 2nd to last mission (the Depot with the snipers) I've done everything but destroy the 2 tanks in the open. However I can't seem to get close to them without being shot from about 6 angles at once. I've already killed all the snipers before doing a few of the earlier tasks but they seem to have respawned. Anyone else had trouble with this? Also they seem to be able to not only see me through walls but shoot me through them too!?!

Just played the demo and am really impressed :D EA have really brought the game back. Just... 4 hrs for the whole game is extremely short

Just finished it myelf and im disgusted by the length of the game, given the current shoddy state of the mp game as well as the fact that it only offers 4(?) new maps and what your left with feels like an expansion pack such as spearhead or breakthrough but retailing at full price. The review scores as far as i can tell have been pretty generous.

Really not good enough :(.

The game may have been a bit short but im betting its much harder making a level you can attack from different starting areas as opposed to levels in games that are more or less a linear point a to b corridor crawl.

Looking forward to the dedicated servers coming sometime next week though.

Call of Duty 2 managed the same thing, granted you didnt actually parachute in but i remember there were a few levels which tasked you with destroying a number of objectives and gave you the relative freedom to tackle them in which ever order and you liked. Plus parachuting into the levels reveals how small they actually are.

I dont ever remember cod 2 having objectives you could do in any order and ive played through that game a few times.

I could really care less about the level sizes, it was a fun game and it was also ea trying out something new, most likely see expansions building on the open layout gameplay.
