No Improvements on Halo 2 there

I dont see why you're all arguing though since you're either going to prefer Console or PC its not a case of which is better.

It wasn't broken. Right, that's supposed to be an excuse for not improving the game is it?

of course it isn't. Do you really think UT3's gameplay will be drastically different from UT 2k4? probably not, because UT 2K4 was brilliant. Its the same with Halo 3. Theres plenty of new features that others have listed below and these will subtly affect gameplay (equipment in particular) but at a core level the mutiplayer gameplay will be similar to halo 2, as it should be.

The Crysis gameplay looks fine, doesn't look dull at all.

I like the suit idea, although the videos show the power recharging very quickly. I have major concerns about the enemy a.i. thoguh. Every video has just shown them standing around waiting to be shot. Theres no squad movement, taking cover or the like. As i've said in the pc forums im hoping its just easy mode on the videos but i can't understand why none of the videos would show off the a.i. if it was available. Hopefully i'll be prooved wrong when the demo comes out (and i honestly mean that because if the A.I. is up to scratch it should be great :))

Best example of what i mean is look at the gameplay video released on gametrailers in the last couple of days with alien gameplay. Looks fantastic but the gameplay seems quite dull :(

Team Fortress just seems like a game that will be more fun on Console than a PC. Everyone on a level playing field etc..

I'd also enjoy Half-Life 2, Episode 1 and Episode 2 much more sat on my couch on my 42" Sony than on my poxy DELL 2405 hunched over my desk on my PC. :).

Don't we get a prettier version of the original Hl2 on the 360 - with bloom etc?

I'm hoping that a pad will make the shooting feel a little more realistic and satisfying and that the challenge will be increased somewhat. I enjoyed HL2 a great deal, but combat let the game down.

I am in the Crysis multiplayer beta (thank you founder's subscription) - don't worry people, you're not missing out on too much. It's a good game (the best looking so far and the beta only lets me on high settings and not highest) but definitely not up there with games like Halo 2 or Counter Strike. This is from a multiplayer perspective though, and the game's not out yet to be fair. But the gameplay mechanics are woefully out of place in a multiplayer environment, just like Farcry was.

I have probably broken an NDA in there somewhere. >_>

The PC version has had bloom for ages now (They also updated it for CSS and what not on maps that use it). :)

Don't forget you can download the uber high res texture packs for PC too so it looks even better. (http://halflife2.filefront.com/file/HalfLife_2_FakeFactorys_Cinematic_Mod_V30;69829x)

Knives, loads of stuff has been removed in the Beta, it doesn't even have physics apparently and it's riddled with bugs.

Mind you I don't really think the final product will be a good game for multiplayer, single player does look good fun though.

Oh that's the furore over needing Direct X 10 enabled servers for the majority of the physics effect (such as shooting trees). There's still basic physics in place, such as the ragdolls and whatnot. It's definitely riddled with bugs though, that's for sure. I think I spent about half an hour trying to get the video settings to work, plus there is a lot of disconnecting going on, roughly every 2-3 minutes or so. The point of the beta is to find these problems obviously, so I'm not surprised the glitches come out of the framework in a heavily stressed testing environment (like Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4, they had their fair share of bugs and network problems)

I meant HDR, not bloom (that was something I instantly turned off in CS:S). I only bring it up cause I read ...

'It seems the 360 version of Half-Life 2 featured in the Orange box will be updated with HDR, dynamic shadows, updated water, and character models from ep2. But only the 360 version not PC for now.'

... on a site the other day.

Well some levels on Half Life 2 seem to have HDR, it's in the options alongside bloom.

Doesn't really matter though, Half Life 2 is 3 years old in 2 months so I'm not at all surprised if it does have certain upgrades on the 360, the important part is Episode 2.

Sure - i'm after Hl2 on the 360 more to play in the lounge and for the control method, was just curious whether the pc had these features.

Some one was selling copies on Aus auction site and they had quite a few as they pictured a few unopened sleaed copies and an opened one to prove the disc and manual etc was inside.

Sold for quite a bit aswell.
