Hi there
Confirmed the 2900 Pro is a 512-bit memory interface. It is identical to the 2900 XT, except for lower clock speeds.
very very very tempting to get one for crossfire with my existing xt. any downsides to that? - rig can definitly handle crossfire.
no. it wouldn't... each card world run at its own clock speed..when i had a x1600xt and x1650pro in crossfire they ran at they own clock speeds.Would probably just downclock your XT to the speeds of the pro I believe

also u can overclock each card to different speeds...
but its 55mm so less power. so i don't think it would... also ati meant put something in the card bios so u can't overclock it the high...if the 2900 pro has the same core as the XT, just lower clocks, then it should clock to the same speeds as the XT

last question. will the november ones be the same price?
Any idea if I would see any performance increase if I moved over from my BFG 8800GTS 320mb to one of these.
I game at 1680x1050 mainly so I think my current card with only 320mb is holding me back on this resolution.
What are your thoughts?
Hi there
From what is currently available Abit IP35 Pro is one of the best boards and that is in stock.
Next board from Asus features X38 chipset and to give a clue as to its name here is a hint:-
"What we do in life echoes in eternity"
I am sure that will give it away as to what the new top-end X38 based board will be from Asus.![]()
