Been paid this month even though I've not worked for 2 month.

Keep it defo! I wouldn't spend it for the time being just let it sit and after a while if it hasn't been taken away then its all yours :D It wld b foolish to give them it back, im sure it will not affect the company in any way and if they are making simple mistakes like this it proves that the money is of little value to them!

Free money 4TW :D

You know if its their error then, the obvious choice for me is to keep it ... especially if you can afford to pay it back. If you found a fiver in the street .. would you hand it in at the police station? Its not exactly life changin/altering money and either is £1000 imo for a bank.

People and especially Banks just have to learn to be more careful with their money.

as far as i can remember from a thread similar in nature a long while ago, they can ask for it up to two YEARS after the error. best give it back now and avoid dissapointment.

OR, stick it in a high-interest account and give it back, without interest when they ask.

Stick the £1000 in Northern Rock, don't worry, if you need to pay it back the Bank of England will sort it.

That's pretty good :)

Well its obvious but i will say it anyway, Keep or not to keep, It all comes down the indivisuals magnitude of Moral. Or more how they think.
I would keep it, keeping money that wafted across your face is quite normal imo. especially when it belongs to a company or a bank.
Also i noticed some people use the word 'Steal' as if all act of stealing is just as bad as each other. . . Well i dont think this is hardly the same as stealing from a old womens purse :)

I am with JodieG on this one. If you were not meant to get it they will pick up on that, failing that the auditors will.

I think you overestimate most companies account deparments. Some companies I've worked at had managers who wouldn't bat an eyelid at a 10% variance between the budget and actual pay. However that still doesn't make it right, its theft. So if you've not objections to me robbing your house after you buy the nice shiny LCD or plasma keep the money.

Having been in a similar situation and being honest about it. I fully regret my choice!

Keep it until x-mas like someone said. Its not someones personal savings, so no reason to feel bad.

JodieG stop being mean!! ;)
