what do you use to attach fans to passive coolers ?

thinking of putting a fan onto a passive cooler that i have, whats the best/safest way to attach it has there are no clips ?

depends on the kind of cooler it is but zip ties usually do for me, or even elastic bands if need be.
 
i used 4 matches, superglued them to the fan, then superglue the over ends of the matches to the heatsink.

has held on for about 3 years now....

Or good Old Duck Tape !! :D
 
Thin cable ties that go through the holes for the screws on the fans that then just wrap them round the cool/card?
 
I use Unicorn tears shed by the light of a blue moon....

But, if I haven't got any of those, then cable ties!
 
I use Guarden wire because it was there. - be careful if you use this not to bridge any connections. In fact I don't reccomend it and must get myself some cable ties.
 
Well, we're never talking about that much heat in computer cooling.

So, not enough heat to melt a cable tie, and certainly none of mine have ever melted!
