That's the steel backplate of the cooler, every GTS/GTX looks like that.

Well not being in the habit of looking at particular models for 8800 of late, I was more asking was it a gtx or gts 320 or 640 or even an ultra. It does help

It's a GTX, you can tell because it has two power connectors.

OC2 just means they took a standard OEM GTX, put the BFG branding on it and upped the clocks that any OEM GTX can run.

Looks identical to the card I bought a week ago, an ocuk 8800gtx, which I believe are made by "palit". Nothing wron with them at all. Got mine running at 650/950 core/memory and it goes like the clappers too.

It's an oem 8800gtx, straight from the factory without any crappy branding or value added junk.

Yep save a packet. It's amazing how much you pay for a pretty box and an extra year or so of warranty you'll most likely not need. Heh.

Define "very little"?

I'm getting swayed towards an 8800GTX now.
Only bought my 7900GTO as a stopgap until the 8800GTX came out.
When it did, I felt I didn't need it yet, so would wait for GeForce 9.
Still waiting. Crysis is coming!

Don't know if I can hold out for the 9800GTX, all depends on how much "very little" is, if I can get one, and if my Antec Neo 550 can power it (with rig in sig, 5 HDDs, 2 optical, etc)
