It's OFFICIAL, Hatton WILL fight Mayweather

I expect the ref will be extremely strict with Hatton and penalise him at every given opportunity leaving Mayweather to do as he pleases meaning he'll probably win on points by 9 or 10 rounds :(

hattons a bigger draw in the states than matweather so i wouldnt be too sure. Only a few of mayweathers fights have been pay per view cause the american public dont like his style of hit and move.

Yes he is the best fighter in the world but hes not the best value for money uness you like stick and move

im guessing every one on here thinks hatton will win?

Think might be putting it a bit strongly, hope is closer to the mark. In a Keegan-style manner I would love it, love it if Hatton beat the obnoxious little git up for 12 rounds but I think it will be a very close fight. Hatton needs to produce his best performance ever to do it. :)

Even if he brings a Kostya Tszyu performance into the ring it won't be enough. Tszyu fought back with Hatton and we know Mayweather won't so the gameplan changes. Hattons going to have to be on another level to win but I'm confident his pure desire to win this fight will bring it.

DID I SAY I CAN'T WAIT!!!

If you watch mayweathers first 3 rounds against lovemore ndou he got beat with aggression exactly like hatton fights. Unfortunately for Ndou he ran out of gas and got beat easily after that.

Heres hoping hatton can pressure all 12 rounds cause hes going to get hit a lot in this one

Mayweather usually starts slow, takes a few rounds to figure out his opponent. Heck even Judah was arguably beating him in the first 3 or 4 rounds!

IF Hattons stamina can hold up then he has a good chance of winning.

To be picky ;) Mayweather has never fought Lovemore N'Dou. He fought Phillip N'Dou and N'Dou won 1 round at the most before being stopped in the 7th

Since Hatton isn't going up in weight and doesn't have to cut so hard to make 140 I'm hoping he has more 2nd half energy for this fight.

In a recent interview Mayweather mentioned he would love to fight in the UK and possibly make it his next fight after Hatton.

So:

Mayweather beats Hatton by close S/UD
This would make it an obvious opportunity for a rematch at the MEN or Wembley. The PPV and gate figures would be massive and since he's now known as 'Money Mayweather' it looks a dead cert.

Mayweather destroys Hatton by UD or (T)KO
This would be a harder sell for a rematch and despite the fact Britain has champs at 140, who would Mayweather fight? Witter could step up as he has the frame to go to 147 but does Mayweather know who he is? I can't think of anyone in Europe that's 'big enough', apart from Hatton, to fight Mayweather, unless Oscar wants to come over here and put on a show. Why would he though unless again Hatton himself?

Hatton beats Mayweather by close S/UD
If Mayweather wants to even come close to being known as a legend he's going to have to come over to the UK and win back the title from someone who's just beaten him and is at home. A very tough fight for Mayweather and credit to him if he takes it considering the circumstances.

Hatton destroys Mayweather by UD or (T)KO
Unlikely as this is, why would Mayweather go to Hattons backyard and try to beat a guy that recently destroyed him? Not likely.

Finally
Looks like it's all talk as usual. I know he's impressed by the level of support the UK give Hatton and he probably secretly wishes he had the same. Since he's now promoting he could come over to fight Hatton again if the decision is close and it would be great for boxing and a great gift from Mayweather to the sport.

Heres hoping!!!

It's certainly possible. Stamina wasn't too bad against Collazo but still wasn't as good as it was. I think the Tszyu fight was the last time Hatton showed really good stamina.

I think two things won that fight, his unbelievable conditioning and massive desire. It he can bring that to Mayweather we're in for a cracker. I just fear that as with Naseem, being fat and rich slows you down. This, of course, also applies to Mayweather too. He can only want it for so long and when in the trenches...

I do hope we get to see the uncut version somewhere. Boxingscene.com is usually good for these kind of clips. Heres hoping!

It's on YouTube. Just do a search for 'hatton press conference' and it's amongst the first 10 or so listings. (edit...thought you meant the SSN press conference).

I was in Albert Square for the press conference last Friday. It was the best free entertainment that i've ever had.

Firstly we had the press conference on SSN on 2 hugh plasma screens. Hatton has obviously learnt some stand up from Bernard Manning. :)

Then we had Mayweather on the stage. It did actually threaten to get ugly at one stage. There were a few empty coke bottles, flags and badges being thrown at Mayweather and his entourage.

Then there were the chants of 'you fat *******' to his bodyguard who responded by taunting the crowd himself. There was also chants of 'going down', 'who are ya' and the old favourite 'who the ******* hell are you'.

Mayweather didn't help himself really. Before the press conference's, he was in the windows of the Town Hall stirring the crowd up. After the press conference's, he and his entourage were again in the same window giving the crowd the finger. There was also a woman there (possibly his wife/girlfriend) sticking her ass out of the window and smacking it! This was met with a few tomatoes being thrown at the window.

All very amusing and harmless fun though. Got soaked to the skin but it was worth it. :)

If i could choosed one sporting event to go to for the rest of my life, it would be this fight. I'm just gutted it's on Sky though. I'm hoping there's a big screen in Albert Square on the night of the fight.

There's another clip on YouTube of H&M in Albert Square last Friday.

Just do a youtube search for 'ricky hatton and mayweather manchester press conference' or 'Hatton Vs Mayweather press conference (Manchester)'

Well, Hattons in Vegas and it's all heating up nicely. The abuse is hilarious, both are extremely confident of victory and the fight can't come soon enough.

I've been keeping up with the scribes and the various other media reports and it appears that Mayweather is just seeing this as another fight while Hatton is positioning himself for the condition of his life for the fight of his life. It's as though the media are ensuring the market see this as a 'pick em' fight to help boost sales when they really think it's going to be a walk over for Mayweather.

Despite the odds and the deficit in skills and speed, I'm still going with Hatton close UD through pure will and desire to win (and a little wishful thinking). Both will have to dig deep, Mayweather will make Hatton look basic and will shine at times but with Hatton closing the space between them faster than any other of Mayweathers opponents before him, I see this as a tough but close fight. Mayweather will have prepared for this fight but his mindset will not be prepared for who he thought Ricky is/was.

Go Ricky!!!
