Anyone brought the Gigabyte X38 yet?

my friend tests these for reviews. he's had it 2 days and says its a complete pile of ****.
bad overclocker
unstable
sata dvdrw problems

it's getting a bad review from him apparently

I have just ordered one to try , I will build up another new system to run along side my P35-DQ6 so will be able to make a direct comparison

A direct comparisson should use the same component, ie, same cpu, same ram...

apparently the early BIOS versions are poor but they have just got a new one that is supposedly much better (so says Gary Key at Anandtech).

Tom's hardware summed it up in one line
Conclusion: X38 boards too expensive, P35 with more Bang for the Buck
Unless that changes, then regardless of it you get a few more FPS in games or a few seconds less when encoding and so forth, people will just buy the P35 or wait for the Nvidia 750/780/790, maybe even the X48 but if the X38 fails to come down to a reasonable price then people may be hesitant to buy it. It's like P965 vs. 975X... 965 in this case is the IP35, and it'll dominate. When you look at X38's with DDR3 though, they perform really well, but not well enough to spend £300 more for an X38 with DDR3 over a P35 with DDR2.

I am waiting for Nvidia's offering. I wasn waiting for the X38 but after seeing the reviews I am to say the least very disappointed. I want something that is future proof to replace my 975 and right now X38 isn't worth the money.
