1 X 6 PIN PCIE - 1 X 8 PIN PCIE CONNECTOR ON CARD. 2 X 6 pin pcie cables will suffice.

I'm talking about the spec of the memory, not the memory interface like you are suggesting.

e.g. 1.1ns gddr3 and the comparable value on a 2900xt (basically to see if they are literally just downclocked cards, albeit maybe with slightly worse cores).

So these are defintely not underclocked XT's to clear failing Sales of the XT due to the 8800's dominance in the GFX sector?

Gibbo has already said in this thread the XT's have sold well since day one. So no that's not the case.

I will be keeping a eye on this thread to see what people reckon to these cards , at the mo i am painting my case and buying watercooling parts but would be looking to upgrade my x1950 pro to a 8800 gts 320mb or perhaps one of these would likely be near xmas though .

These cards are apparantly, according to a "board partner of ATI" spokesperson, "defective" 2900 XT's that couldn't reach the stock speeds stabily.

“The HD 2900 Pro is not something AMD needs. Those are just ‘defective’ graphics cards [that could not run at 742MHz’ and there are very few of them, just about several thousands worldwide. In fact, we only accepted orders [on them] for several days,” said a representative of an add-in card supplier who wished to remain unnamed.

Yes limited, unstable? No! I have had the card running @ XT speeds under several loops of 3D mark 06 and no issues at all with artifacting or temps! I think ATi are trying to make sure people think the XT will be the faster The pro matches it just fine though!

Can you please keep it at XT speeds (or higher) and report your progress.
