e46 saloon im sick of this car now

Nope the garage is 5 minute walk away.

Its all the problems I have had with this car and plus the built quality is not that great.

It seems bmw are not all they are cracked up to be.

Thats the lamest excuse i've ever heard, come on dude, its either keep your car safe or leave it to get broken into, if crime on BMWs is so common you would think that you would keep it there.

Well last time it was broken into was so long ago I dont remember.

Im hardly going to keep a car like that if I need to walk 5 minutes there and back everytime to use + its not my house.

Well when I looked at what dealers wanted to pay for the cars we bought the audi was over £1000 higher even though it had higher mileage 10k, both were virtually the same price new.

For the sake of arguement, the tradein value of a 2003/53 plate Audi A4 1.9 TDI Sport and a BMW 320d Sport, both on 36k miles, both 6 speed gearbox. Ie, the equivilent cars in each model range.

Audi: £10850
BMW: £11600

I rest my case.

Not a good comparison, I have just checked list price when new assuming no extras.

Audi A4 1.9TDI Sport Saloon £22,015
BMW 320d Saloon Sport £25,375

% Terms
Audi held 49%
BMW held 45%

So Audi holds its money better.

Interesting. I guess it depends which model in the A4 range you reckon was the rival to the 320d Sport.

Looking at the figures again, I'd be inclined to say it's actually the 2.5 TDI - as the 1.9 TDI is considerably down on both power and performance over the 320d Sport, perhaps accounting for its noticeably lower list price. Audi and BMW list prices are usually mirror images for similar cars.

Infact, yes, thats the case. There is also a 180bhp variant of the 2.5 TDi which I would imagine is the 330d Rival, leaving the 160bhp 2.5 to head off against the 150bhp 320d (Performance figures are the same).

A 2003/53 2.5 TDI Sport would tradein for £11750 against a list price of £24852.

Which still shows I was wrong. Never mind, eh :p Not exactly figures which make much difference - Audi still does not noticeably cost more on the used market.
