Boris Johnson is tory candidate for London mayoral elections

Great stuff, it's about time we had a few more politicians that weren't afraid to speak their minds and stopped pandering to the politicaly correct nanny state pinko commy lefty overs from the 70s.

Now if we could just get Clarkson as deputy.....

I hope Boris wins. He's one of the very few politicans that say what he thinks and talks some sense when he does speak. The other politicians who are calling him names are just jealous because boris is popular and liked and while they are despised. On questiontime last night they were saying politics requires a certain type of person and Boris is not that type of person. The only reason they say that is because they know they cant compete with him.

Just checked Ladbrokes and its:-

Ken Livingstone 1/2
Boris Johnson 6/4

I'm tempted to put £40 on Boris because I'm pretty certain he'll win.

lol, yeah what a nice bloke to represent a multi-cultural London
His a joke tbh!

No, he makes a very good point. The anti-racist machine is causing many to be racist. Things like positive discrimination and guaranteed interviews are just a few of many policies that are turning people racist.

Ken's pretty popular, although this might be a real challenge from Boris. I'd take the bet for Ken to win again tbh.

Interestingly, they are 2 politicians who both regularly get into trouble for saying what they think, and not towing the party line.

Now one has, and the other one is going for, the political post with the largest democratic mandate in the UK. No other politician has as many votes for them as the Mayor of London.

Although I don't agree with all of Ken's policies, he has been good for London. Whilst the tories have laid into Ken for the CC, will they actually repeal it?

Had a look on BackBoris.com - no actual policies yet...

Boris would get my vote, he is worth it just for the entertainment value alone. I like that he speaks his mind, regardless of what he is saying.

Always made me laugh when he did his rant at Portsmouth..people were outraged, yet , speaking as a pompey person, nothing he said was false. The way he described it was how it actually is imo. The adage that people dont like to hear the truth sprung to mind in that instance.

Either way, he's worth it , nice to see a politician with some interest about him, better than all the bland sit on the fence politicians we see so much of these days

yup he is quality entertainment not sure if i'd want him deciding the capital's fate though.
