Annoyed with Direct X 10 Hype...

Looks like ATI is about to take another beating unless they can pull something out of the bag with new drivers.

One less reason for Nvidia to release a new card yet :(

Yup 360 isnt Dx10, but the architecture of it is sort of similar to Dx10, (has the free 4x AA for example, as Dx10.1 will bring, has the streams as well i think), so ATi had a huge head start on Nvidia at Dx10, as Nvidia have never ever done it before, their 8800's are their very first go at it, and they are blowing ATi clean away at the moment, should be the other way around.

I thought as it was ment to be out nov/dec 06 same as gtx but in jan/feb 07 ATI went and redid the gpu as they had problems and then slipped april and again until 2900tx was released, i know i waited until about feb and got a 320.

It was same with drivers,I had a 320 since feb and i hated my drivers for the first 2 or 3 months they were crap and improved once 2900xt came out

Same here, got my 320mb GTS the day before they were released, so only had no drivers since then, but imagine how all those felt who bought GTS's/GTX's last November when they were released, they've had to wait a lot longer (6+ months) for some drivers , least they are now starting to improve, releasing drivers non-stop now they are, its about bloody time, keep it up Nvidia. :D

DX10 would be great if Vista wasn't such turd, XP with 2GB operates far more smoothly than the bloated mess that is Vista 64 with 4GB.

Wrong and wrong.

The OS has nothing to do with the Dx10 performance at all, it's the way developers implement it and optimize it.

Also Vista ran very smooth for me with 2GB I didn't even notice any difference going to 4GB, far snappier than XP ever was.
