Crysis MP beta now open to everyone!

I ran this on High for everything, 1440x900, and suprisingly...the graphics card was fine, it was running nice and smooth....

...when it wasn't grinding the hard drive because of my 1gb ram!

Still well impressed, it looks awesome and when I get 2gb ram should be fine.

Spent ages downloading last night, then when tried to install this morning told me was not compatible with my operating system.... Vista 64-bit.

Will try again tonight, but if no luck will not buy when it comes out but will wait for reviews/user input before maybe getting it.

Problem is, they have been throwing this game in our faces so long before the actual release that I am already getting bored with it, before even playing it.

If it doesnt work can i have your key?

Well I tried this last night on:

Opteron 146 overclocked to 2.5Ghz
2gb RAM
ATI Radeon X1900XT

On 1280x1024, all on medium with no AA.

I got loads of graphical problems, pink textures and missing blocks of land etc. Also it ran at about 15FPS.

I guess I'll have to upgrade :p

Sure. Won't be much use to me. You will have to message me to remind me - tomorrow, so hopefully will have had chance ro re-download tonight and try out.

Thanks. can you mail my trust then ill just mail you back tomorrow. As you have not trust i cant see any contact details? Hope it works for you anyway :D

Cheers,
Hugest

Runs like crap on an AMD X2 4200+ with 2gig Corsair and a 7900GTX.

Seemed to take ages for the shaders to load once in game too, running around with yellow boxes everywhere.

Been following this post here and there and I am a little shocked that its not running better on top systems. Am I right in saying its graphic card heavy and not CPU ? anyone here using the 8800 Ultra and still having problems on top resultion ?

its very CPU intensive and is still unoptimized and full of debug code, so im not supprised it doesnt run well at all.

I decided to try to download the beta again.
Managed it this time.

Very limited time to try it this morning, as the first half hour or so, all the servers were down.

Running with the rig in sig, I was surprised at how well it ran.
After reading about people saying how poorly it runs, I had it running at 1680x1050, no complaints at all, and that's on a 7900GTO!

Started off in "low" everything mode, as was expecting a slideshow, and it ran smooth as silk.

Went back to the options, and let it set itself to optimal levels, which turns out to be medium.

Still ran fine. Wasn't silky smooth, but it was well playable.
If this is how a beta runs, then I look forward to the full game.
Now I know I can hold off on upgrading my card until GeForce 9 is available :)

V1N.

P.S. When I say "ran fine" I did have the graphical glitches that people have referred to previously. Yellow flashing textures, which corrected themselves after a short period of time. Only played about 5 mins, got a busy day now :( ;)

Im running pretty well on 3800 X2 @ 2.5 / 2.6 with a 7800 GTX (xfx extreme) with 1 GB of ram.

All settings are on low apart from texture and object detail which are on medium, does'nt look as pretty as the video's you would have seen on the net but its not bad at all.

Only graphical error I can remember is when firing one of the tanks guns i think its the gaus one.

Gameplay can be very fun on times when you have a good game going but it can get boring on times if things slow down, the suite just adds loads of little gameplay elements which are awsome.

well its not open beta and how they dare to call it as i can not get the key it says beta is closed so it is actually still closed be as not everyone can play it i was at work when it happened and when i came back keys were gone

it means you dont need to be a fileplanet subscriber to access the beta, there was still only limited quantity of keys.

What exactly is debug code? And is it only something in a beta release no longer required in a full release?

spot on i think, basically code that allows singling out bugs & what not easier i think. Final release wont have it because A) it cripples performance
B) most bugs should be ironed out, and any that arnt will be flagged by the community and will then be patched(we hope:))

The Release3 Client of Crysis is abit buggy, some new problems form Release 2, like I can use AA with the shaders on Medium, using AA with the shaders on high results in low performance.
