Crysis MP beta now open to everyone!

Ok this is poor.

Re-installed ATi 7.8 and 7.9 drivers twice, and reinstalled Crysis twice, but i'm still getting artifacts? They arn't the yellow textures most people are getting, but actual models distorting and mashing up the screen.

Just a copy and paste of the readme.txt for anyone who hasnt read or has not yet downloaded it

These known issues are listed here to inform you that we are aware of them, and are currently in the process of fixing them. However we did not think that they were problematic enough to prevent you from enjoying the game.

I just had a quick go of this on a x1950pro with all default settings and its pretty impressive. Frame rate varied from 90 down to 20 when in the boat.

The graph glitch everyone is going on about, on my game it just looked like something off the start of Terminator 2 when arnie is sizing up the boots, jacket he wants to wear. Everything flashes yellow once then turns to the proper texture, even that looked good :)

I like a lot of the effects, depth of field vision when zoomed on your weapon. The smoke effect is weird, it kind of makes everything around it blurred like shell shock on bf2 but different. They are definetly using that sm3 lots

The water looks crystal clear and the sun is glinting off the surface like some tropical holiday destination.

It uses my two cores quite a bit, its raised the temp some which no game I normally play does

I liked going third person on the boat gun with excellent fire effects. I dont know about the gameplay, it seems ok & something different to play :)

Played this quite a bit the last day and it's good fun, better than I was expecting to be fair!

Performance wise I'm not sure bout my fps range- might fire up fraps and havea look but I suspect mosta the time it's <30 or there abouts - with some over when things aren't as busy ...

Might make me think bout a new gfx card christmas time, it'll do for now :p

Same card here, with all the talks about the 8800 boys having problems, I wasn't very optimistic. Turns out it runs pretty well on high, result!

Enjoying the game too, I might get bored of it at some point, but its all exceedingly good fun at the moment.

[Edit] I was under the impression the game wasn't using multiple cores in the beta? Maybe thats just quad, can anyone confirm?

Give up tbh, game isn't that great anyway :p

It's the best fps game i have ever played, once you start getting the addons it's superb ! love the weapon scopes and laser sights amazing gfx and gameplay smooth all on high vsync and triple buffering on 1680-1050 no aa or af though [email protected] 8800 gts 640mb@600/1800 2 gig crucial ballistix. No idea why people are not liking this it blows bf cs source etc out of the water just swimming around is cool.Am on the bioshock beta drivers have no slowdown or any problems here.
Everything about this game exudes quality and class.

but the mp of crysis is as boring as hell.
It is kinda weird how they suddenly imposed this MP promotion on us. I think most of us just expected they'd have a great singleplayer and tagged on multiplay

I thought it was the other way round. I thought they were going to focus on the mp aspect of it as that lasts longer than sp.

Turning shaders to high doesnt make any difference I found.
The biggest boost in fps is turning texture to medium.

You should be able to run it all on high, that's what I run it on. The odd pause between inside & out you may get with high settings is listed in the known issues section of the readme.
