Crysis MP beta now open to everyone!

Running @1650x1080 with all settings on Medium and post processing on high. (for the uber motion blur effect)
System is:
C2D @ 3Ghz
4gb ram
8800 GTX
Vista.

With medium settings i get 35-60 FPS, goes higher than 60 inside buildings. Annoyingly with high settings my system starts to struggleand fps may drop to 15-25.
However I will say, I cant see any differences between High and Medium settings while playing, except the fps ofc :)

The Release3 Client of Crysis is abit buggy, some new problems form Release 2, like I can use AA with the shaders on Medium, using AA with the shaders on high results in low performance.

Hang on - so you're saying that when you up the graphics quality.. it runs slower?

Cr-a-a-a-a-zy stuff!

iirc, AA doesn't work on the beta - it'll still slow down and what not as if it's doing the leg work of AA, but it'll still look just as jaggy.

My oppinions on the beta:

I dislike the system where you earn ranks in the game then when the next game starts your rank 1 again.

I dislike the Vehicle Physics.

But everything else is just fine :) Appart from how kinda unoptimized it is, but im sure the final demo releise will be a lot more optimized.

Even tho theres a few odd anoying bugs like trying to change graphics settings sometimes errors the game, same with AA.

Im sure they will fix them, afterall its a beta :)

For DX9, its the best DX9 graphics iv ever seen.

Hi chaps.

I got a beta key for the crysis mp beta and downloaded the client and installed it yesterday evening.

However i ran into a big problem.

When in the crysis menu when after setting my res and settings and just as im trying to log into an mp game it kept freezing up on me and going back to the desktop and so forth and each time i got the message "display driver has stopped responding but has now recovered".

Then when i tried out etqw i would get odd what would look like shapes on the screen appear on and off and then went back to the desktop and to my horror the screen colour was all messed up.

So i uninstalled latest nvidia drivers, went into safe mode, re-installed them and the desktop colour and starting etqw was fine.

However again when i load up the crysis mp beta i get the same problem all over again until i reboot then everything is fine with my system apart from the crysis mp beta options and logging in page.

Any ideas or anybody else had this kind of problem.?

I have all the latest drivers installed across my system etc.

Downloaded off fileplanet of course (@crap speeds with a subscription aswell!.) and may try to re-download as maybe a corrupt download?..will try again and i am aware that its a beta so i expect bugs here and there but i cant even get it to load up the game like a lot of others have on here with no problems.

I'm not sure why everyone is saying Shader medium-high has no difference; imo it's the most significant graphical difference - the game looks amazing with it

Also I think the nanosuit modes do bring something new to the table, however speed mode needs to be faster. I don't seem to be able to run around enemies like I see in the trailers. Oh I wish the performance was better too. The game is nearly at release point yet it seems unoptimised as hell. I think it's the draw distance that's making the most FPS hit

All depends on your spec and drivers/OS.

On Xp I get far better performance with this game than in Vista32. Latest nVidia drivers and 7900GTO/E6600. With shader at medium its really very playable and looks amazing, this is at 1680*1050 which is very impressive imo.

I can see a difference in all settings apart from Shader Quality (medium to high).
Texture I see as the biggest difference... What are the differences between medium & high shaders?

To place a claymore:

Withdraw one from your rucksack, being sure to position front away from you.

Crouch in a sleek and stylish fashion and point your crosshair at the ground near your feet.

Deploy :)

Tips: Takes 2 to kill an opponent with max armour. Best to place two right next to each other.

They work quite nicely on cars, as they catapult them into the air, and then the car explodes when it hits the ground. You wont get any points, but it is hilarious :)

do you struggle to ?

Nope, i play at 1440x900 medium settings and get a consistant frame rate of 30 outdoors, 50 indoors.
Sometimes drops to 20 if a lot of action outdoors, rarely drops below 30 indoors with action.

All this on an opteron [email protected] 2Gb DDR (not DDR2) and on Vista 64.

Thats on my 2900XT at stock speed using ATi horribly optimised drivers (as in they aint done yet for crysis)
