Would crysis ever be on ps3/xbox?

Well I can run something like Half Life 2 for example on my 2 year old PC at full settings, high resolution with a constant 85 FPS, and guess what...it looks and runs a damn sight better than that POS game Halo 3.

The Source engine, unfortunately, is one of the very few exceptions. If only more pc devlopers took Valve's approach. It certainly doesn't look as good as Halo 3 when the action kicks off, btw. Infact, very little has impressed me as much as Halo 3 in recent times.

I can't run Crysis on Low at 800x600 with more than 20 fps average, it's a really bad performing Beta.
Something SERIOUSLY wrong with your PC because most people with your rig can run in all high 1680x1050 and keep around 30fps. I'd reinstall it and then write about it on the Crysis beta forums at Forumplanet if it persists.

I reinstalled it and tried new drivers, I've got spot on performance with everything else, well except Quake Wars. :p

I haven't tried the newest client yet though.

Could be anything then, but take my word for it, you're getting far below average performance. I'd go on the Crysis forums at Filelpanet and bug it.

Well yeah it can be done, but it'd be a dumbed down version.

I really do have to tear my eyeballs out each time I play Forza 2, Bioshock + Halo 3 on my xbox 360. The GFX capability of the 360 is so bad... *rolls eyes*

Im so glad PC gaming is dying because the whole industry expects their user base to upgrade with each new game. (although this argument always comes up and PC's are still here!)

It's nothing to do with the graphical capabilities of the consoles (Although it probably would be dumbed down in that respect also.) Go and read up on the subject so you don't make yourself look like a complete idiot next time.

ROFL! See what I mean? Fanboys spouting utter bullcrap.

LOL dying hey what dou think they develop games on? PC gamming will never die.it just has lulls when nw consoles come out then once console are to weak to do what the devs want to do they all swicth back to pc which are already back to being more powerfull that currentcrop of consoles

None of those games look anywhere near as good as Crysis on all high settings, and we've not even seen "very high." I'm sorry but the Xbox 360 simply could not play it without massive dumbing down.

Firstly, PC gaming isn't dying. Secondly, you don't need to upgrade with every new game which is why you have the ability to turn down settings.

Have a big, fat  as an award for making the most idiotic post ever.

Which is where thngs start to get annoying. Crysis on medium doesn't look particularly impressive at all - and certainly not as good as various 360/PS3 games I could mention. To get these better visuals nearly always requires max settings, a high res and a constant frame rate - which means lots of regular upgrading.

This is the case with the vast majority of pc games I play - as soon as you hit the medium to low detail levels they certainly don't look better than console games.

Rubbish.

I am running all on high at 1680x1050 and getting a fairly constant 30 with a GTX. As are many other people.

Crysis looks good at medium, but looks very poor on low. On high it looks incredible, so I'd love to see how it looks one very high (thought I doubt it'll run on my machine.)

You can also adjust individual settings so that, for example, if you turn down the shaders setting you will get a big performance increase without losing any noticable detail in texture quality and still have all the motion blur effects etc.

The problem with porting it to consoles is that the textures are far too high res and the draw distance is far too big. Consoles just can't put up with that much on screen at once which is why Halo runs at 640p instead of 720p.

I'll have to try the new client first then I'm gonna look into it.:)

Dont worry about it really. The proper demo/full game should perform a lot better. Its a multiplayer beta remember. Theyre probably focusing on the netcode more than anything. Also am I right in thinking the beta doesnt support multi-core cpus?

Sure. I'm not really bothered about a port, it would likely be a shoddy one. My point was that to get superior looking games to what the various consoles have to offer offer nearly always involves regularly upgrading every 6 months or so - which costs bucks.

Ah I ain't looked at the CPU usage myself, I'm sure the demo will be a lot better though.

No, not rubbish actually.
