UEFA Cup Draw

Well it wasn't the worst group for us but it wasn't far off. Least we avoided a trip to Moscow which would have been a nightmare. IF we can win the two home games against Lokomotiv and Copenhagen then we have a good chance.
 
Bayern Munich gonna win this competition easily as long as they don't lose their heads. I'd tip them to go strongly in the CL let alone the UEFA cup!

Totally agreed Allan, I really dont understand why keane has the armband, yes he screams and shouts a lot but when he's at the other end of the pitch can anyone hear him ? we severly miss king in that dept, I would like to see a defender as the captain but as you say we dont have anyone that can take on that role at the moment.

I'll be amazed if we don't. Our strikers aren't scoring loads but other people are chipping in. If we can be solid at the back (which we generally are, bar the Metalist games) then I think we've got every chance of going through.

I don't think it will be a crazy bet. We always seem to up our game playing in Europe and as soon as we have sorted our league form, which to be fair we are slowly starting to do so (based on our performance at Anfield, where we always seem to struggle), bar Robinson's mishaps we will be a good bet.

Although we have had this shocking start, things are improving, and hopefully when King returns (whenever that is) we will start climbing the league also. We are only 9 points off Liverpool and a string of good results and we climb into the top half everyone will have forgotten about our position at the moment.

As for Bayern. They are a good side, but watched them the other night on Setanta and they didn't look all that, and they were at home.

It can't be a coincidence that we keep buying players that can then no longer find the net. Beattie was scoring at southampton then did nothing for us. Johnson started well but has been poo for a year.

I've never been keen on yakubu.

I dont know what it is about our system that requires such dud forwards. We now rely heavily on other positions and before it was cahill that had to chip in. Now its got so bad it's lescott out scoring our forwards.

I'm finding this year depressing. I was really looking forward to Vaughan getting a good run alongside Anichebe. Instead we wasted money on Yak.

Hopefully Vaughan will get a good run in the side and Johnson can be sold on.

Only thing that I cant fault is his work rate. Other than that i'd rather we kept beattie and played to his strengths a bit more. I know hes dropped down a league but hes finding the net again as soon as he left us.

As much as i've defended moyes over the years he's a prime example of a manager that shouldn't be given big money to spend on players.

All our best players under his reign have cost next to nothing. All the flops have cost us millions.
