The Official Assassin's Creed Thread

So what's the story with this thing? Is it set in about 200AD or something, or is it more futuristic and you have weird things done to you?

I thought it was the former but my friend's telling me it's the latter. If it's the latter I won't bother with it.

Its set during the Crusades. Somewhere around 11th - 12th Centuary i'd think. I've had it preordered for quite some time :)

Still seems to be a lack of information with only a month too release :eek

When browsing for information, it seems a lot of people are simply comparing it to Oblivian.
 
The gameplay sucked from what a lot of the hands-on previews have said, which is why the hype died down. It's definitely off my list until proven otherwise.

Mass Effect will rule all.

Assassin's Creed has looked very good from what I've seen, but I'll be waiting for a final review before I decide to part with my money. There are simply so many good games coming out that I won't spend money on something I'm not sure about.
 
I'm looking forward to this as well.

I'm hoping it will be something like thief.

Sod the mission, going on a mass rinse session it what its all about! :D
 
In regards to Lair, I was amazed how many people couldn't see it was crap before it was release! I'd done nothing but slate its average graphics, shoddy colour pallette, lack of depth and how dodgy it looked via Six-Axis, yet people continued to believe that it would be a good game.

The difference with Assassins Creed is that it has a lot of potential, but I don't like how quiet things have gone with production now, in the past it's been a sign that the game isn't living up to the producers expectations, so that does have me worried. The hype around PGR4, Halo3, Bioshock etc.. were at its highest months before release and it continued until it was released. I've hardly heard a peep from Ubisoft lately :(.

Nokkon, I respect your honesty and unbiased reviews on games on the console forum. Your information usually turns out to be correct, but on this occasion I do hope you are wrong in your concerns for Assassins Creed.

I am hoping it is going to be an exceptionally good game, and it is one I have been keeping an eye on for some time. It has the potential to be very good, and I just hope Ubisoft can deliver.
 
Believe me, so do I. I really, REALLY want Assassins Creed to be excellent. I can't knock the production values we've seen in trailers, screenshots, advertising etc. for it.

How you mean ? looks superb to me especially the guards on horseback part was brilliant. :)

Really seems your in the setting i would say fighting looks kind dodgy but i would be worried it would turn into a button masher if they all set upon you at once. :)

I like how it mimics kinda real sword fighting you have duels etc shaping up to be cracker i just hope it dosnt fail. :(
