The Official Assassin's Creed Thread

http://www.pro-g.co.uk/news/12-10-2007-6670.html

Struggling to fit on one DVD for Xbox, Struggling to fit in limited memory for PS3.

One can be fixed by adding more discs, one can be fixed with some wishful thinking and maybe a bit of voodoo.

Just add another disc, I don't care if I have to swap to disc 2 half way through the game, just don't sacrifice anything just to squeeze it all on one disc.

Game Trailers

They have some new Footage on their front page :D

I thought that looked excellent. Although the combat left me a little puzzled, there were so many knights they could have just rushed the assassin instead of all standing around waiting to decide who was going to attack him :p

Yep. This is one of the things I picked up very quickly. Although maybe it was because of the difficulty setting (I hope). Also, I totally agree about putting it in two discs, rather than taking stuff to squeeze it onto one disc.

The difference with Assassins Creed is that it has a lot of potential, but I don't like how quiet things have gone with production now, in the past it's been a sign that the game isn't living up to the producers expectations, so that does have me worried. The hype around PGR4, Halo3, Bioshock etc.. were at its highest months before release and it continued until it was released. I've hardly heard a peep from Ubisoft lately :(.

Hopefully the following will go some way to soothing your fears then :)

I've been avoiding most things to do with Assasins Creed, Kane and Lynch and Mass Effect so as to not set my expectations too high so these games can blow me away :)

But as we are getting closer and closer its becoming a lot harder to resist :(

I can't wait for this game :D There is one thing that annoys me though - its the 'electric' stuff going around the character and targets. It takes away from the medieval atmosphere of the game.
Also after seeing this trailer http://www.gametrailers.com/player/26314.html I don't see why you would need to sneak at all. Not only did he get away from about 20 soldiers, he can also out run everyone; the climbing and acrobatics make this even easier. Maybe they were playing on Easy though?

i think i watched a video where the developers were showing off what the game can do and the freedom u get looks amazing, and i liek the idea of being able to solve a mission in a variety of different ways depending on your style...

game looks pretty as well :)

Assassins Creed is also set in the time of 1191 AD, for some reason this appeals more to me than modern day

Me too!! :)

I'm looking forward to it, can't wait, but I've serious doubts about how much interactivity they've put into the game. I think they'll have so much emphasis on the "climb anywhere" that things you'll want to do to enhance this experience will be lacking.

For example you're in a market, there's a wall you want to climb but the foothold is several meters higher than you. In real life you'd probably find something (like a cart, ladders, barrel) to assist you. But I just can't see how EVERY object in the game is going to be interactive.

Graphics wise it looks incredible, the story seems really good and I'll probably buy on release, but I just can't help thinking it's going to offer so much you'll want more.

I thought there were some rumours about only part of the game being set in that era, I'm sure I read somewhere that it may jump forward to a different century.

I downloaded a longish gameplay video from Gamersyde, and although graphically it seems awesome, the AI in that video was rubbish.. the Assassin dropped down into a court yard and killed the target, and the 10 odd soldiers in close proximity then almost queued up to fight him, he was standing right next to three soldiers who had their swords out, and they waited until he dispatched another soldier before another joined in..

This game has the potential to be truly superb, the immersion factor seems very high, but when the AI fails miserably, it just brings it all crashing down..

All IMO of course..

Have to agree. I'm impressed with the majority of the game apart from the AI. I'm hoping it was just a difficulty setting, but as it seems to be happening in most trailers and previews. I'm starting to loose hope :p

Also, First Page Updated (Links) :)

I must admit only found about this yesterday from a friend but looks a very good game. But like stated before it can look good but turn out bad. I thought Two Worlds might be good but never got into it (though this maybe because it was slow on my poor old pc). Would like a demo of Assassins Creed on the 360. Might even check if there is a Two Worlds one.

cant wait for this game! its the main reason i bought my PS3... will no doubt be awesome from all the reviews/trailers ive read :D

just hope a demo will be out soon

I cant wait for this - But isnt it released on the same day as Mass Effect? Im going to be broke on that day ¬_¬

Thats what i'm talking about, it looks laughable the way there all stumbling about waiting for the next fight.
