Nat min wage? My pay? Help please..

My first job was at a garden centre - I was 15 (4 years ago) and earning £4.90 an hour. When I turned 16 it went to £5.40.

Not recruiting in any or the Yorkshire regions... they ended like aug 31, about 5 weeks before my bday 18th!!!

You'd have to be extremely capable/lucky to get into the police force at 18 anyway. They are generally after people with a bit of life experience, for fairly obvious reasons.

Tesco payed me £4.69 when I was 16 starting on the dehli. No idea what everyone else got.

I now get £5.79 an hour working at a competitor now I'm 18. Work's good but looking to get a better payed job so I can save a bit for uni before I go.

Development rate?

£4.60 how can they justify such a crap rate...

no wonder the unemployment rate is so bloody high, pay is peanuts tbh... id have to work 60 hours to rake in £276? thats ****, really annoys me, crap pay, gonna have to look for a new job, i cant cope with that crap, for 40 hours i get £184, minus ******* tax, fgs i cba with that...

Lmao you make me laugh :D
Should have searched around for a better job while you had the chance :p

It annoys me, i work and work, i dont care about working, its something to do, i enjoy it, im a bloody shelfstacker/till worker and i also do shifts in the butchers which might earn me an apprenteship soon.. im working becuase i have nothing to do and there isnt much at college except a 1 evening a week corse i do.. I want a decent career tbh... i dont know what though and that annoys me more...

even though, i dont understand why that rate is what it is, like my mum said to me the other day, people are 18 tend to move out, so why should they be entitled to less then a 22 year old..

Mate your doing a job a monkey could do (no offence). Work hard, show initiative and you'll stand a chance of advancement where you'll make more cash. You've obviously chose the 'work', rather than education route so go ahead and reap the benifits.

Why the hell should a company pay you more? What do you offer them that a polish worker doesn't? No wonder so much of our work is moving offshaw when we've got unskilled workers trying to demand a premium.

going to all 6 of the interviews would have been a start

if your getting interviews then your doing better than me :p

2 were too far, couldnt do it to be honest, especially for the pay of one of them... not worth it in the long run..

sorry but why do you think you should be paid more for a job that until the minimum wage, was paying about £3.50 an hour?
you do a job that anybody can do, requiring no skills, just to turn up.

you could earn more by working on the phones doing something like customer services :]

I'm lucky enough to have a job that pays 4.85 an hour... but people 18+ get that wage too.

My mate is 17 and works at primark and gets something silly like 3.69 :( poor girl
