Nintendo Wii Sports arriving at OcUK VERY SOON in quantity!!!

I love Nintendo as a company, but I'm pretty disgusted at the whole availability issues - regardless of the reasons. We wanted a WII when they first came out (we're in the USA, btw) and gave up as it was just too demoralizing trying to find one. Then a couple of weeks ago we had a bit of money to spare so decided to get one. Amazingly it was even harder than before! The ones that do surface get bought by people who then put them on auction sites and make a tidy profit. To be honest, I wouldn't bother buying one now.....but the missus has her heart set.
 
I know I got high on laughing gas about 2 hours ago but did my post just get deleted for mentioning high street availability or did I dream it (even though I didn't mention any competitors)?
 
the thing is though that Nintendo are struggling to meet demand, the wii has outsold the 360 and been out a year less(to me that says their shifting a helluva lot of units, (circa 10 million) not easy to manufacture 10 million units of anything in 12 months

You are obviously not looking hard enough. Over the past few weeks I have been able to get them (work mates/friends ask me to find them). It can take a few hours or a few days to get one ordered and they turn up straight away (all of them were cheap, none of the inflated pricing that seems to be happening). :)
 
cool system, just picked mine up new for €222 with sports pack, remote and nunchuck ;)

And emailiscrap it does not affect your warranty.

I shouldn't have to try so hard to find what is basically a plastic box with a couple of 5 year old microchips inside :p They could churn these out by the bucket-load if they wanted.....it's hardly a PS3 or XBOX360!

Regards the conspiracy, how else can you explain 2 months before xmas 1 year on there still isn't enough units to go round. They know their sales figures through the year. Is it that hard to ramp up production for xmas?

I believe there was a public statement somewhere stating that they knew there wasn't going to be enough and because of sustained high sales they weren't too fussed about missing out on a little extra christmas sales. Wish I could find the link though!

Regardless of business tactics it's public knowledge and not a conspiracy.

They're not though, they chose not to. They could easily manufacture in more factories (in fact the are running in 2 more factories as of a few months ago) but the simple fact is they have almost a perfect balance of supply and demand, selling huge numbers whilst maintaining demand which must be making them silly amounts of profit!

it took me a few googles to work out what wii sports was....by the way this topic was made and the price of the console i though it was a new updated wii or something...lol
