Couple of good ones last night there, had to dash off as the dog was asking to go out! Personally I think the maps are just the right size.

funny thing is this game stopped me playing PC games 3 years ago.
Why? Because I've got a dodgy back and crouched forward on the PC killed me.

Now playing laying back on me bed with mug of coffee, Oh heaven :D

Playabiltiy GREAT (the translation to game controller seems effortless)

Had my first go of TF2 (30 minutes) and I'm looking forward to some fun games, even though I'm not sure of the rules yet lol.

I've yet to have a go of portal but everyone seems to say its great so maybe tonight.
 
I cant wait to get my copy ive not played HL2 for a couple of years!

I loved the part **possible spoiler (even though the game is about 3-4 years old)**

Where you have to shoot down that spaceship thingy while your running around on the steelwork underneath that bridge. Absolute top draw!

Shame my PGR4 from them has been MIA since a week wednesday.

Just a question about your TV, i have the 32".

Are you running through component? When i run some games through component at the moment i get banding lines accross the tv.

Does this happen to anyone else with a R74?

havent noticed this problem myself and im using component.
do you have you pc connected via VGA at the same time? not that this should be an issue. sounds like another line feed into your tv isnt sheilded. sky box via standard cheap scart maybe?
 
Still not sure whether I should get this. I know I want it, but I still have a lot of PGR4 to do and Halo 3 I still play online with my mates and finding time for them is getting harder and harder. I'm dreading November.

Arghhh everytime I see it in the shops its like 'I want it, but I wont have time to play it, or I will play it and never complete PGR!'

Curse you gaming gods!!!
 
Slambo69 I'm in a similar position. And PES2008 is out soon too!

Damn!

Think I'll have to pick this one up cheap early next year. After PES2008 and Assassins Creed I'm going to lay off buying games for a while. It's getting to expensive :(

Ive gone through every combination possible, just the xbox plugged in aswell.

I emailed samsung and they said the TV didnt support 60Hz through component, while i play Gears through component at 60hz with no issue at all.

Its strange, thinking of sending it back to where i bought it but dont want them to not find anything wrong with it when it gets to them.

Its a bit shocking to see this drop down peoples list of games to pick up, just the original HL2 is worth the price of admission and then you get 4 other class games with the quality that most developers dream of having. Love every minute of it.
 
TEAM FORTRESS 2

I've played this for about 3 hours today and i still cant decide if i like it.

Does anyone else feel like they are shooting blanks? ie- their bullets arnt doing much damage ect?

No so much shooting blanks, but certainly doesn't take off as much health on your opponent than, say, HL2.

I'm loving it, the maps for me are just the right size, zero speed issues, graphics are brilliant, and does exactly what it's meant to - a simple MP shooter for those who want no frills.
 
If you can get a good server (on pc) then its bloody fantastic. I think you need to find the class you gel with and stick at it though, and that can take some time. Currently I like playing scout and soldier.
