Lo there. I'm buying a NAS box, and need one which can be wirelessly attached to the network. Do OCUK stock a NAS which would do that? I have had a look, but it didn't jump out at me.

Well i have it attached via cat 6 to my DG834 router so is wireless in that respect :)
what you sound like you are after is one of these

afraid they sell some products that OcUK do, so removed link as it's a competitor

OCUK seem to have stopped selling them though

The D-Link one you have is exactly what I need really. It's for a business environment, and it'd be used to backup data from a PC and provide Raid 1 redundancy. Only client requirement other than that is that there's no wires

Can't really see anything that will do that unfortunately.

Do they have a wireless router?hard wire to that or buy a wireless router and put it out of sight in a cupboard etc :)

If your NAS is connected to your LAN wired, and your router is wireless, then any wireless computer can access the NAS- it'll just go through the router.

Got a D-Link DNS-323 also.

Aye, we have an existing wireless network. Only prob is that the NAS would be used as the printer server and would need to be sitting next to it.

Aye, the client doesn't want the NAS wired though - because the cable would have to come from the wireless router and they don't want to see a wire

I wonder if it would be possible to get a wireless hub/bridge and connect that to the NAS. Would sit right next to it, so no cable trailing around.

like i said get a wireless router :)(more reliable and configureable than a bridge ?)
attach NAS to router.jobs a good un
although this NAS has a usb port it is only for networking a printer

Just tell them wireless LAN is dog slow, and can be hacked. I'd hate to have a wireless LAN with printer and traffic to/fro NAS constantly..

NAS will have a power cable, so hardly "wireless"

no use a lacie raid nas, its a full dhcp server and will hard wire into the router if need be
