2007 Brazillian GP - Race 17/17

how can their fuel give any advantage anyway? do all the constructors not use fuel fro the same source anyway?
the FIA make a habit of it
Different series, but also governed by the FIA

but take into account the tank fitted to the car has been there since 2005 when the car was built by Pratt & Miller and that it has never failed scruiteneering beffor that race and has never failed since.

edit infact here is a better article about it: http://www.planetlemans.com/cmsv2/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2997&Itemid=2

Apparently they put "cool" fuel into the cars, which would reduce its volume this would mean more fuel to be added in a pitstop; enabling theoretically more laps and also the cool fuel would reduce intake temperatures and increase power.

As much as I wanted Hamilton to win the DC, taking it away from Raikkonen would really p me off.

Alonso has said its common for teams to be 11, 12 degrees under the ambient temp and nothing is done, the limit is meant to be 10. RAI is reporting that other teams have been caught out due to a sudden rise in ambient temp during the race. Williams and BMW were said to be 12 and 14 degrees under the ambient

The mechanical 'failures' of LH car may have been invented in order to ensure the Ferrari team win both the constructors and drivers titles for 2007.
After all the hoo ha around the spying allegations and hearing, it's possible some big wigs at Mclaren conceded the championship title, to negate a super massive law suit from ferrari corner.

Probably just another wild conspiracy though.

:D

It should be interesting.

If Alonso leaves, then his "effect" should be removed from McLaren and they should be back to their normal (2nd/3rd best car/driver combo).

Another way of looking at it would be that next year the Ross Brawn/Schumacher effect will be totally removed from the 2008 Ferrari. 2008s Ferrari will be all Raikonnen/Massa's.

If Alonso stays (which is still possible), I think McLaren will be in for another strong showing next year.

Just wait and see, I guess.

Should be really, Ferarri will be strong and hopefully McClaren can pull their socks up and get a good strategy. Hopefully though its not just those two teams and we get maybe (if Alonso goes to Renault) and interesting 3-way battle. I do like to see Hamilton win, but nice to see not just 'oh he's won again' but more 'yes...damn it he's won!!!' :D

Exactly. Look at what happened in both Hungary and Japan, Lewis benefitted a great deal by both of those decisions.

On recent FIA form it should be "drivers didnt know, lets just fine them and remove their constructors points".

rubbish, if there is an irregularity with the fuel then it could easily have given the drivers an advantage, in which case they should be disqualified or dropped places.

drivers champs, manufacturers champ and £50m? i doubt it :p

Mike Gascoyne says it can give them a 5-10bhp boost, in which case, the FIA really need to think carefully about whats to be done.

Well they never docked Alonso and Lewis for using Ferrari setups so it's right, the current trend is punish the team not the drivers.

Oh really. Mclaren cheated in the eyes of the law and they chose not to exclude the driver points. If they remove the BMW and Williams points for their rule infringement then F1 is truely dead.

They have said one teams rule break is not the drivers fault then in the next stroke they remove the points for the fuel rule break and it will reek of a set up.

setup? thats why they dropped alonso 5 places a couple of races ago, even when what he did gave him no advantage over any racer other than hamilton?

Completely different scenario, cannot be compared.
