Weekend Football *SPOILERS* 20-22 October

isn't the penalty area 18 yards? which makes half the area 9 yards :)

Like i said above, 3-4 yards was ott but he's still around 2 yards inside his area as he's released the ball so it wasn't really close.

Didn't explain well I meant between the 18 yard line and the 6 yard line. He'd be around the penalty spot if what you said was true. You're still wrong saying he's 2 yards inside. He's very close to the edge of the area.

Its semantics at that point though.

The penalty spot is 12 yards out so if it was 3-4yards he would be half way between that and the edge of the box (or 1 yard closer).

Its not very close though, pause it as he releases the ball and you'll see he's well inside the box.

And as someone pointed out on Youtube, it's considered one movement, otherwise why was Henry's goal disallowed v. Blackburn a few years ago when he took the ball off Friedel foot.

LOL, still saying well inside the box :D

The keeper is deemed to have it under his control until he has kicked it once he has dropped it, but I'm not sure that it means he has it in his hands

The laws of the game don't state that the one movement thing counts as handling the ball, so it can continue outside the area.

I find it strange how you're criticizing for what you deem exaggerating when you first said that 3-4 yards is more than half way inside the box, then changed it to the penalty spot which is 6 yards inside the box.

Our definition of well insdie the box must be different but im sure had the ball been that far over the goal line people would say that was well over the line (Mendes goal vs Ut for example).

No, I had explained what I had meant.

ok we're not going to agree so we may as well just leave it.
Clattenburg has been 'dropped' for the next round of matches: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7056562.stm
Or should that be 'rotated' ;)

Just come up on ssn that he wouldn't have officiated a match that weekend anyway as he's officiating a european match and part of Uefa's rules state that they can't ref the weekend after the euro game.

Nice :)

Is it just me or was there a distinct lack of a preview for Newcastle. All they talked about was spurs. Happened the other week on sky too. Getting sick of it tbh
