New Radiohead album

Oh, I missed this comment. What on earth are you on about?

Simple really, I've yet to speak to any friend of mine, work colleague etc etc who actually thinks the album is good and yet reading this thread you'd think it was a musical revelation.

Which bit was tricky to understand?

A review on Metacritic means nothing to me, the same goes for any review you can link to, I'll use my ears.

It isn't terrible so I'm not attacking it . When someone hops into the thread with something negative to say do not just assume that person is stupid.

I think that Radiohead are an incredibly inventive and creative group, however they can often come across as unfocused meandering or pretentious. They are experimental, speaking as a scientist I know that experiments have a tendency to fail occasionally:)

Oh and I'm loving "pretty much evything excluding RAP HIP hop and RNB type stuff". You really don't sound like someone who has a clue about...well..anything really.

Thankyou for you valuable input and childish personal attack, all I said was I don't like Radioheads recent albums it's not like I'm some sort of baby killer. I do know plenty about music I have an extensive and diverse collection and a good quality stereo. I'm also well educated so would like to think I know something about something even if it's no an indepth appreciation of experimental Jazz. I to am not a big fan of the music press but I was merely pointing out that other people agree with me about the quality of Nevermind as a genre and generation defining album. I'm not going to lower myself to your level an resort to petty insults, thanks to those that have supported my right to an opinion and my freedom to express it.

It's not going to happen, there are plenty of other bands that sound like that.

I have resigned myself to it never happening but there is always that little bit of you that hopes even when there is no hope. Your right there are a lot of other bands around with a similar style to early radiohead but ones who get close the the quality are very few and far bettween.

I myself prefer the direction Radiohead have taken and fully prefer the new stuff over Pablo Honey and The Bends. Although I'm not saying I don't like them, I still ******* love them to bit's. The new stuff though just feels as if I am listening to the "real" Radiohead, doing what THEY WANT to do and not what everyone else wants them to do.

Just thought I would bump this thread and see how people view this album now? I'm listening to it at the moment and I still think it's fantastic, start to finish. If it's the last album they make it's a hell of a way to go.

Having seen them play most of the alnum live twice since my last reply I think it's probably the best post OK Computer RH record.

Reckoner and Videotape are epic live.

It's an okay album, must say it is the least gripping ever though

15 Step, Weird Fishes and Jigsaw Falling Into Place are the only ones that really stand out, at all, for moi.

Fubsy did you buy it again for tenner like you said you would, out of interest?

I bought the disc box, the cd.... I kind of went mental. I've got a scratch on th evinyl in the middle of Nude though after I dropped the needle on it by accident :(

One of RH best albums for me alongside The Bends & OK. Although I am a RH junkie & love everything they do, have seen them live about 8 times & wish they make to to Australia soon as haven't seen any of the In Rainbows stuff live.

can't believe that people are so willing to just give money up when they have an option of a try then buy....

download first and then if it is worth paying for just pay after. its not likely that it will be though there last few albums have been terrible compared to the first 3.
