Whats the best PSU for under £100?

Well as I say chap, its more about being used for the next few years, so I'd rather get something that will last me a few rigs down the line.

Cpu's and Vga's are only getting more efficient, smaller and using less power. I very much doubt youll need 800w unless you go sli.

Your choise, just trying to save you some bob. The trend currently is shrinking everything to a smaller die.

The Corsair HX PSUs have a big single rail as well, although they are labelled as multi-rail there is no internal limiting as such that means if any one rail was overloaded then it essentially reverts to being a single rail PSU. The JonnyGuru review covers this better than I can. :)

its simplier than that. there is one 12v rail, thats it:)
Ordered a Corsair TX 750w for £100 delivered.

waste, though you could do much worse for £100 i guess

Why is it a waste? It's plenty of amps and power for future upgrades including SLI/Crossfire.

Why pay £60 for a lower PSU now and then have to buy a bigger one 2 years down the line for another £60?????

because a single high powered pc using <400w. they ran an 8800gtx sli, quad core monstor on a 620w corsair. how much power do you really think you are going to need?

is more better? of course. are you going to use it all? not on your nelly.

But it's there is I need it ;)

Seriously, I'd rather pay an extra £20 now to have total piece of mind when it comes to power.

like i said, you could do a lot worse:)

i know how much pc my pc sucks, and it's nowhere near what i or people on here imagine. im very happy with my psu and tbh, even that is complete overkill (620w corsair)

Heh I always love a good mushroom cloud in PSU threads :p

I felt I had to stand up for the poor old Hipers though! According to his highness jonnyguru, the following:

Hiper Type-M 670 and 730W and Type-R 730W

* Based on server grade Andyson AD-800 units
* 3 year warranty

are actually better than any Seasonic or Corsair unit.
