Whos ditching 8800 for new rev?

well this is frustrating

on the asus mobo forums, some people say that no, sli 8800 GT's WILL NOT work on the p5ne-sli, and that it wont even work on the 680i. where as others are saying that yes, sli will work with 8800 GT's on the p5ne-sli.

anyone with a p5ne-sli wana buy a couple monday and tell me if they work? lol

Noooooo! If it won't work on that mobo, it deffo won't work on mine. I've been hanging on and hanging on and on for this card! :(

1 card will work on the P5N-E SLi, but on that mobo one of the PCI-E slots is 8x and I'm guessing PCI-E 1.0.

So anyone think the 8800GT will have same performance in a PCI-E 1.1 slot compared to a PCI-E 2.0 slot?

I say that as mine is only the P5NSLI! Please tell me that 1 card will work, i only want 1!

P5N SLi? oh never knew one with no E existed, sorry.

the E version had extended features, like 1333mhz fsb, quad core support (as far as i know) and other generally useless stuff.

looks like a new mobo is on the books then, unless someone here with my mobo has 2 of them in sli next week

Quad Core and 1333FSB aint useless tho.

Tempted to sell my 2 month old GTX now and go for the GT,i think the GT will play the games i play more than well enough.

You dont know if the GT will turn out to be a lemon, just remember all the hype surounding the R600 and how that turned out to be a melon.

But if i could get £275 for it and even if i waited for the new 640mb gts which is due november i should still have a good card and still have some cash out of it.

I very much doubt it TBH.

I'm looking forward the the GT it will close the gap between itself and the GTX but cost soooooooooooooooooooooo much less.

You think if I sit at my PC all day on monday and have me eyes glued to the screen I should get one ebfore they go out of stock?

Dont exactly need the money but if i can get the GT for say 175 and still have 100 left over from the sale of my gtx id be more than happy.

Apparently the GT will work on PCI-E 1.0 boards, apparently PCI-E 2.0 actually does work with PCI-E 1.0 now as in abckwards compatible

Does that mean that i'm wasting my time running 7300gs in sli on P5NSLI as i understand that on this board 1 card = x16 and 2 cards = x8 each?

Why would it be a waste of time you still get improved performance with sli, and as the chart already demonstrated PCI-E 16x only benefits the high end 8800 series.

Take it out your sig then until It's stable...(Like the lecture you gave me a while back when I put a non prime stable clock in my sig ;))

"Your PC can't compute prime data"

8 hours prime stable or you may aswell pull the other one mate.
