just had my front window smashed by little kids...

Put up a sign stating that this is private property and trespassers will be responded to with armed force.

Lots of houses around where we live have those sort of signs, usually by security companys like ADT

"Tresspassers face armed response"

Yea we aren’t in America  we don’t have silly gun laws, threatening kids with guns? Come-on that’s going to solve the problem isn’t it.

In my local town gypo kids have been going up to random people in the street trick or treating . People are actually giving them money as well .

Maybe for the jobs, but not for the small child, or old people, or people that don't like little scumbags.

What some people seem to forget about oranges is they aren't the softest of fruit, seriously, throw one at someone, it'll really hurt, throwing one at a window will break it.

I think you may have missed the sarcasm there :p

Armed response could literally mean chasing them down the street with a pair of arms from your last victim though?

It's halloween isn't it? Who knows what goes on in a house on a night like this.

Besides, to be armed you don't have to have a gun... I could be armed with a table leg or a broom for or they know.

Yes, it does. You're making blanket judements based on a specific opinion of a problematic issue that causes lots of people grief every year.

Then I stand corrected. I think people are just overblowing a lot these problems. I still think the whole 'orange' thing was simply reckless behaviour, don't think there was necessarily any intent to break the window.

Maybe not, but what other intent could there be apart from to harrass the owners of the house?

We had to tell the curry house to get the driver to ring 3 times when he got here, we're not answering the door otherwise. The streets just sound full of kids.

I'm not looking out, else there'll be a queue of them at our door...

blighter, use your knouse, it was a rather general comment aimed specifically at the ever increasing mass of young miscreants littering our neighbourhoods.

Then stop conveiniently phrasing your sentances ;)

The good kids are never recognised in the media because they are just that... good. Bad kids make headlines because of the atrocious things they do.

Which is why I hate the media. They just focus on peoples deaths, accidents and suspicions :( I'd much rather read/listen/watch something with a decent mix of the Good and the Bad.

They'll tell all the kids to ring your doorbell 3 times now. :p

Classic, chasing them with your victims last arms :D:D

:confused:There are always (what appear to be completely pointless) stories about a saved pony or a child that's now getting care or something that someone somewhere cares about (presumably).

:confused:There are always (what appear to be completely pointless) stories about a pony thats been mutilated/raped or a child that got snatched from an apartment many many moons ago and is always on the frontpage because there are no more bad stories to talk about.

Fixed for truth.

Splatting an orange is half as serious though, i'd almost say that's mildly entertaining.

Why splat it on someone's house? Where does it become fun to do it to someone's property instead of just against the pavement?
