In kind of a break from all the Crysis threads,
I've just got hold of Far Cry again, to have another blast at.

What patches/upgrades are considered essential for the game, including any x64 stuff.

I just installed FarCry as I never got round to finishing it. All I've done is install the 1.4 patch - not aware of anything else, though it's hardly like I did any research.
 
Theres a 64 bit patch you can apply that makes it look a lot better, forgot where to get it though have a quick google i think theres like 2 patches one a gig and one near a gig.
 
I'm downloading the 1.4 patch at the mo (180Mb)

Trying to find the x64 patch, found one (~480Mb) haven't found any other yet

I'm not surprised the end of the game is rubbish, the best bits are at the begining.
 
Is there a difference between:

Far Cry AMD 64 US/UK Patch (Size: 485.67MB)

and

Far Cry AMD 64 Exclusive Content Update Patch (Size: 421.84MB)

are they kinda the same or do they add separate items?
 
doesn't the 1.4 patch introduce the rather annoying feature/bug of being able to shoot (and be shot) through walls? Seem to remember reading that it was brought in as a multiplayer tweak but ended up getting left in the single player as well and never being removed by Crytek.

Very annoying to hide behind a wall or boulder for cover and then still die, I'm sure you'll agree.

you should get both (they're different).

you must have vanilla Far Cry installed (NO PATCHES) and install the AMD64 US/UK patch, then the Exclusive content patch.

I found that didn't work, and I had to apply a couple of patches first. Otherwise the game would halt after the splash screen.

ok, So what about the 1.4 patch? Do that afterwards?
