Rentokill?? Fly insestation :(

why don't you just cover the floor of the loft with some plastic sheeting, or at a pinch, tape some black bags together, then, when he's finished fumigating and it's safe to go up you can just gather the sheet up and wang it in the wheely bin.

If I didn't have this phobia I probably would, but as it stands I really don't want to go up there until they are dead :/

Cluster flies can be a difficult pest to control. Indeed the emphasis of your pest control treatment should be to control this type of problem rather than aim for complete eradication, as during the cluster fly season there are often more flies ready to replace the ones you succeed in controlling. This said however, our kits and step-by step instruction can now help you to control cluster flies more successfully in your loft, without the need to call in a professional pest controller.

The key to success in getting rid of cluster flies is to be extremely thorough. The following is a basic guide for the use of the products within the kit.

sounds liek you will have to go up there.. :(

see if you can source one of those all over body siuts like the beekeepers use...

Yes mate i am, you coming over as well ?

I work as an estate agent. We have this 1 house on the market which has been on for about 4 years. its insane, so long infact the director of the company bought it off the previous owner because of the stick we were getting.

I have taken about 3 different couples there who refuse to go into a certain room of the house and break down. I mean physically they start to shake and get to the near tears stage. Ive never seen anything like it. When i ask these people why ? they just say theres darkness surrounding the house and its hidden itself until you get to this room, all three have given me this response in different words but close enough.

I had to go upto the house to do an inspection on my own last week. Im not usually scared of things so i just walked arround the house and straight into this room. To my supprise there were black flies all over the ceiling i mean in excess of 200 - 300 maybe. I got the hoover out and tried to clean them up. I did that, closed the door and checked the rest of the house. Just before i left i checked the room again, and supprise they were back. So i rang the owner and he asked me to check the attic for dead birds or rats so as i did, went into the attic to check.

I went to the section of the attic above the room, and nothing. All of a sudden i started getting a fever type effect over me. I started sweating and getting really light headed. Then there was a really weird feeling arround the whole attic, so weird its hard to explain. I jumped down, closed the hatch and run !

This is the house, it looks perfectly normal ! But there is something so strange about it. I have videos of the flies and all on my phone !

^ that is why

Mass fly infestation usually has an underlying cause. TBH you are better off getting the pro's in and taking the hit in the wallet than trying to sort it out yourself. If you can't identify the root cause you will be fighting the 'fly war' for a very very long time. Rentokill from previous experience usually clean up after themselves but they are going to be a bit more expensive than a local guy.
