Does getting hit with a paintball hurt?

I've not read the rest of the thread, but the basic answer is YES. Despite being a bit padded, i've still come home with bruises.

On our last outing i shot one of my mates in the nads with the aircharge (no paintball) and it dropped him :D

Admittedly one of the marshalls lent him an auto gun and he chased me down. :(

. I think getting hit by that would hurt a hell of a lot more than a paintball. And i would like to see a paintball even travelling anywhere near those speeds.

you think wrong , paintballs hurts loads more

miles more energy behind and in one when it hits you

a lad we went paintballing with decided he wanted to shoot himself in the stomach from point blank because "it will hurt so much that nothing else will hurt me all day" ..... so there he is stood pointing his gun at himself , unluckily hes holding it upside down so no paintball comes out and he asks for help

i felt soooo guilty when i did the honour for him and he was on the floor crying... :o

I went paintballing a few weeks ago. Our group was joined by a stag do in the afternoon. To use up all the remaining ammo, the mashall got the groom and the best man together and then told us to shoot them. This was the result:

Pictures aren't great, taken on my phone, but you get the point.

Well im going from my past experiences so i can think what i want.

Sigh, some people just can't be educated.

Excuse me? How dare you insult my intelligence. I have voiced an opinion and have clearly said that its just what i think and that i haven't played paintball as much as i have played airsoft.

Welcome to my ignore list cool guy.

Von isnt that more likely to cause a burst?

Anyway thanks for the invite I know live outh of Lincoln whereas before I was near Edinburgh so its a lot easier depending upon where.

What do you think of the Smart Parts Ion as a first marker?

Excuse me?

You're excused.

Probably - they don't allow padding if it encourages bounces, but I'm at the point where less pain is worth the added chance of being shot out....wimp +1 ;)

Ions are decent first markers, however you tend to buy the base model and then get sucked into upgrading every component (new bolts, new boards, new regs - the list is endless).

For a first marker I'd probably look at an E-tek Ego, or go secondhand, as new markers lose huge amounts of money in a year.

i went paint balling for the frist time in the summer , i got hit on the ass the frist time some how ( iwas faceing the other team and this was in the frist few mins)
felt like some1 lobed a small stone at my ass at high speed after abotu 4sec th pain went away .

Later in a tence fire fight some one got a nice heat shot on me , hit the marsk in such a way that the ball burst on the mask but all the paint was on my face it looked like a had a big purple comady splat on my face some of the paint was like 2mm from my eye;s! no wonder they watered up like hell stright away to the point i could'nt see for a few mins lol

still it was great fun fighting agaist my mates co workers who were teachers lol ill do it again!

for a laugh, take your own paintballs, put them in the freezer for 2 days prior to the session! MWAHAHAHAHA

Dont wear baggy clothes, it really does stop it hurting......then theres just no fun to it :p
The adrenalin will cancel out any pain anyway, you'll just be frustrated you got shot.

I've never played paintball but I imagine it's more painful than airsoft, in airsoft unless you get shot in a sensitive area like your groin, armpit, fingertip etc... then the pain goes away pretty quickly, unless you get peppered in the stomach.

have your rolleyes back , what your saying is scientifically impossible

I'd rather not thanks. You don't know what differences there are in pain for other people. I have felt both on bare skin and a sniper firing 500fps is much more painful than a paintball firing 300fps.

Who said anything about bare flesh?

.....

I have felt both on bare skin

Glad to see you maintaining a nice, consistent argument there.

I think you'll find the ignore function works much better if you can restrain yourself from clicking the view post button. :p

On the topic of frozen paintballs - I know it's a common thing to joke about, however it's definitely not a sensible thing to do. As Zip points out, the balls become horrendously inaccurate (freezing makes the ball dimple badly) and goggle lenses aren't designed to cope with that kind of impact.

"It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye" as the saying goes.
