**CALL OF DUTY 4 MODERN WARFARE**

Just finally got round to playing the demo of this and it's everything I liked about COD2 on steroids, everything I expected it to be and more. I love the graphics and, as usual, the voice acting and missions are top-notch. Just got my order in, so I should be playing it this weekend if I can get myself off The Witcher. :cool:

Really? I thought they were pretty nice. I wasn't actually paying a great deal of attention to them really though, I just wanted to get knee-deep in dead bodies as fast as possible so I was running around like a lunatic.

What are you running it on? As it looks nice on mine. Definately a step up.

And for those that say crysis will be better, imagine the lag if this game hangs a little here and here.

Ive only played single player but I think this is very engaging so far.

I've found the graphics to be some of the best I have seen in a long time!

Here's a few that i took that I personally think are very nice:

Close Up of Sniper
Watery Grave
Helicopter

Very detailed surroundings, building look nice when inside, lighting is perfect. Movement of the player is great too to really give that feeling of being there.

hmmn, I can't believe that there's no key for changing firing mode. Ie switching between single shot / auto. In MP with the m16 you're basically stuck on the 3 shot burst mode which is pants. They better fix that in a patch. I'm a single shot kind of guy...always have been.

Also, there's no option to remove cross hair in mp. Although i expect there's a console command for it (anyone?)

Thats a very nice camoflaged helicopter...looks like a watery grave :D

Cant see why he would say this looks rubbish. I enjoyed the little joy ride at the beginning in the car. Thought it was interesting to watch.

Try just typing something crosshair related in console, they normally show up the options. Shouldnt be hard to find.
 
There is an option in the single player to turn off. Is that not an option for multiplayer?

If you want unrealistic, how about the grenade sign that pops up when someone throws a nade lol Dont think that happens in real life. Although no one has thrown one at me in real life so it might happen. :eek:

Yeah it has to be the most on rails spawn fest of a demo/game that I have ever played. The graphics were great though. It just amazes me that its getting such high scores. Anyway Crisis is a week away so all is not lost.

Lol at everyone who thinks crysis is going to be amazing - its going to run like absolute tosh
 
I've not played the demo of crysis. What is the actual game like? As in does it have good game play? All well and good having fantasic graphics but if its just another FPS with nice graphics I dont think I would bother with it.

COD4 although I havent played online yet. I can image that this would be good fun. Plus we can all have quite high and nice looking graphics without running like a dog.

Is the full game out allready? I was playing the demo, and at the start just looking at some of the textures I thought they looked pretty low res, I'm sure it was all maxed in the demo, my fps was not good, 48 been my lowest fps I was not impressed, it was at 60+ most of the time and took a dip to 48 for no reason, mostly were there was bright lights.

60FPS dropping to 48 isn't good enough? :confused:. Some if not quite a lot of textures will be probably be low resolution, certainly lower than say Crysis.

The game is pretty nice. It is a lot more realistic than Farcry, especially as you can pick things up and shoot down tree's, etc. It must be nicer on DX10 because you can even destroy buildings, etc. But TBH, I am a little disappointed with the gameplay. I have played CoD4 and the gameplay is far more intense than Crysis. I even got a little bored playing the Crysis demo after a while, and it seems to remind me too much of Farcry... IMO, it is pretty similar to Farcry, just with more fancy objects, weapons, etc.

The graphics are a HUGE let down for me. It is incredibly laggy, not even playable on my PC with 2Ghz Intel Core2Duo, 2GB RAM and a 7900GS. At low settings in the jungle, etc. I get around 13fps..... I need to knock my resolution down to around 1024x768 or similar and put all settings on low for it to be smooth, but then it looks absolutely crap....
I have seen many screenshots from users who have their settings on "Very high" and it looks nothing like the screenshots that the developers and gaming websites released a while ago. I can only think they have been touched up, or modified somehow, or they are simply playing on £4000 system's.

I think the multiplayer on Crysis might be a bit of a letdown and I think CoD4's multiplayer will be better.
