Timeshift

Love this game, lots of in your face action and IMO the GFX are some of the best out there on the PC at this time, textures are incredibly detailed and the destructible environments are sweet, superb physics and ragdoll effect are the icing on the cake, now i can only afford one game this week, COD4 or timeshift, ill have to sleep on it.;)
 
This game is SUPPOSED to be linear. It doesn't claim to be anything other than an FPS with some quirky powers. Quirky powers which you actually NEED to use.
But what the game does, it does well. As an avid FPS gamer with an unlimited game budget, I can vouch that it does it far better than most games out there.
 
Can someone please tell me how long this game is. I am so in the mood for a singleplayer shooter and I am itching to buy, but I have to pace myself because this month there is Crysis, Assasins Creed and Mass Effect.
 
Have downloaded and installed the demo, but it simply won't start up. I get a small windows which opens but closes again very quickly and then nothing.

Have tried running in compatibility mode, and as administrator. No luck. Have tried the 169.04 and 169.02 drivers. will try an earlier version tonight, but just trying to find out if anyeone else had this problem, and if so, how they got it running.

I am liking the look of this game, but it does not look too good if I can not even get the demo running.... My money may have to go to Gears of War.
 
I've been playing it, but got stuck were you are on that gun thing trying to blow up that massive tank, dunno if you are supposed to blow the tank up or use time freeze/slow down or reverse to quickly get through the gate and down into the subway.

Slow time down and sprint to the subway, i was wandering around the tank thats parked up for ages, hoping i could "commandeer" it, but it was not to be. :(
 
thia may sound dumb but im still on first level bit in the large storm drain guys shooting at you from the bridge. none of the time stuff works when i press the buttons etc. do you not get this till a later time?

feel like a noob keep dieing :(

I couldn't find where to go on that part, so I spent ages on that stationary gun fireing at it, and when I got low on health I i got off and ran away, then once I had replenished heath and timeshift, I hopped back on and shot it some more. It took ages, but I saw no other option, and only after I killed it I found the open subway.

The level that was in the demo, is the first time you have the suit.

That's what I found as well it's very confusing in some parts. I died a few times trying to defeat the tank before giving up and just made a run for it. It's very misleading as well that they put a tank there which you can't control.

Yea I was trying to see if I could get in the tank lol.

I gave up and used a trainer in the end.

The demo ran fine for me with a GTS and older drivers. I then had the same problem as you with the full game and a new GT using Beta 169.04's. I have reverted to the latest 169.02 official drivers and the game loads up no problem. I can only presume you are using the 169.04's.
 
It's funny, its been absolutely slammed by reviewers.
I played the first demo, which was AWFUL. Has it got better?
 
Yes, MUCH better

I agree with you on the first demo - it really was awful. The new demo is far better - give it a try!

I don't know why it's been panned - I really enjoyed it and I'm currently waiting on the full game
 
When I go home for Xmas I will have my 8800 GT... And Crysis.... And Gears of War....
I might find time to try it.... I also might not :D
