Thanks for letting us know you don't like PC gaming in the PC gaming forum. Each platform has its pro's and con's. Just go with the one you find to be more fun.
 
I've had a PC at home for 10 years - and all during that 10 years I've had various consoles as well. I use both. PC's are better at some games, consoles at others - aside from cost, why does it have to be one or the other :confused:

Me and the missus have 2 PC's, a laptop, a wii, a DS, a GBA and a PS2 :D It's horses for courses basically.

Right now I'm playing Supreme Commander and we're playing Civ IV across the network. Need a PC for those ;)

does no one feel that its all about bleedin' fps games though with nothing fresh and new?

the only pc game i've really hammered over the last few years is live for speed, and i stopped playin that when the did an update which stopped the ghost working (just LOVED shaving seconds off laptimes :D)

now all you that are getting arsey about this thread just leave, its harmless light banter... if you're getting upset about it you're FAR too into your gaming :rolleyes:
 
i tried some of the newer games like cod4, gow. those 2 held my attention for about 3 minutes. crysis is the only game ive played for more than an hour in the past year i think.

I still play a puzzle game thats really good

Crysis ( yawn, runs bad on a 2 year old pc and looks worse than 4 year old games on it )
GoW, console had it a lot sooner.
The what? Never heard of it.
Episode 2: Only good game out in ages.
UT3: Also not just pc only.

Most good games also come out for consoles...

Buy metroid prime 3..... first AAA title on the wii since zelda and definitely the first game to actually do well at the fps aspect

As for pc's mines a bit behind the times right now so all the new fancy demo's are a bit beyond me but im sure ill play them when i get a new pc in a month or so but till then tf2 is awesome

Orange Box in general but Portal has to be the best game to use the source engine in forever. (IMHO)
 
I've moved back to mmo games again as many of my frieds dont even use/have a gaming computer (all 360) mainly. But ofc i have bought Orange box + Steam folder is now 55GB :P
 
those people that dont play pc games anymore.... but still come to the pc games sub section of the forum................ hmmm interesting

Shouldn't you be out doing something significantly more interesting!:p
 
the PC is still the platform to play games on and its that simple i could go on about this in tons of detail, i could give for example Counter-strike (source) which is played daily by millions of people or i could mention the gazillions who are playing WoW for 25hrs a day and paying for the privelage, or maybe i could mention how games like Medieval total war are too complex for your average console user(not that their machine could handle Mtw2) and that the creme of racing sims are supported by the vast armies of Modders then i could go on to say how the Battlefield series again enjoyed by billions kept getting better(yeah bending the truth a bit there) only to be replaced by the single best fps out there today Team Fortress 2 (try a 32 player game of that button mashers)...wait Gears of War i hear the console fanbois shout !!! ahh, its now released on PC double the resolution more levels more multiplayer maps and an editor.... Wii is good though ,see i wasnt being biased at all for a grumpy old man .. yes sure the PC gaming world is defo in a crisis...ah that reminds me of something else the consoles havent got ..
 
Is this another "PC gaming is dying" thread? If so then behold as I point and laugh.

My Xbox 360 hasn't been switched on since The Witcher came out, and with Crysis coming out this week it's going to be a bit longer too. In fact, I'd put money down right now that my Xbox 360 isn't turned on again until Mass Effect is released. :)

It's been a slow year for gaming in general, especially so for PC I would say, but this month is just awesome.

You either upgrade more than once every five years or skip it and play something else, or stick to your console. Simple really.

For me, games are there when I just don't feel up to doing anything constructive. Yeah, there are a lot of things I should be doing with my time, but sometimes its nice to just unwind and get lost in a game.

I don't play every night, and generally don't play for more than a couple of hours. I kind of feel quilty when I spend too much time playing games. Don't know if it's cause I think I am getting too old (30 next month), and because I could be doing more rewarding things.

Though I have to say I would rather play games than watch some of the rubbish on TV these days.
 
Every time I consider dropping the PC a good game comes out and I'm back to square one again. Slave to the machine tbh.

I should probably start sticking to my guns though, lately new pc game seems to be full of bugs from day 1.
 
I dont remember a time when pc gaming was so good (going back as far as c64's and speccy's), it does get boring from time to time during the dry spells when theres nothing to look forward to,but in the end when ive finnished work, given the kids their bath's and left the missus to enjoy her soap's i cant think of much else i'd rather be doing than immersing myself into a good pc game. Like some i dont really get much out of TV and rarely watch it unless there is a match i want to see on sky sports (and to be honest the wife control's the remote) so to me my gaming "habit" is an equivelant to sitting in front of the telly with the remote in my hand. As im getting on a bit now (35) and my drinking and socializing days are behind me (thanks kids) it really is my favourite way of putting the day beind me, i do wish fm08 wasnt taking up quite so much of my time however..
