As Acidhell says, internet banking is great for some things, but you still need to pop into a building and see a human at times, either to pay something in, make a large withdrawal or because there is a problem that cannot be sorted over the phone.
It's also worth remembering that many people still don't use or trust internet banking, may not have it or need to go to the bank on a regular basis for one reason or another.

I use them very frequently for paying in cash and withdrawing cash. Also for paying in cheques.

I go to the bank every week. My local HSBC closed down 2 weeks ago so I changed to Barclays who are across the road. After speaking to them we weren't the first people in their swapping over their accounts.
If Barclays close down at least I can pay money into my Barclays account through the post office.
They don't have to be though. I'm sure you could only withdraw cash from a bank in the past as well.
