Weekend Football *SPOILERS* 10th-12th November

GK: VDS

RB: Brown
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

RM: Ronaldo
CM: Hargreaves
CM: Anderson
LM: Giggs

CF: Tevez
CF: Saha

Subs: PIG, O'Shea, Carrick, Fletcher, Nani

Interesting to see Fergie playing Anderson ahead of Carrick, he really must have impressed Fergie so far. Really expected Carrick to come in today and stay there til Scholes is fit, not complaining though, Anderson hasn't put a foot wrong yet. Nice to see Saha is starting and Giggs isn't upfront, still the warmup to get through yet though.

Good team, best we could have hoped for. Better than the Giggs taking Rooney's place and a 451 which I was half expecting. That bench shows why we could do with a 4th striker though. An injury to Rooney or Tevez and we're a bit weak in that department. Especially with the injury prone Saha as first choice backup.

Get in there, cheer up Stevie Bruce...

Thank the Lord for Liam Ridgewell, always worth a goal or two for the Villa each season!

Another for Gabby, how long will McClaren ignore him in lieu of the likes of Defoe and Smith.

That's 3 in a row now Dazza!

From the sounds of it, we didn't deserve it. Much the better side in the first half, Birmingham the better in the second. Still, when it comes to playing the "we're the best club in Birmingham" lot, any win is quite welcome :D

I felt we bossed the first half, yes, they should have had a pen, and de Ridder didn't dive as Laursen made contact.

The second was a bit more uncomfortable and scrappy, and they played 2 up top which made us struggle, and at times their players seem more up for the dogfight than ours, but that said, in the final third, we had the greater class in Young, Gabby, and Barry who is always looking to make a telling pass, and with 2 of those linking for the winner, it told.

completely agree - we can always push Anderson forward in an emergency with Carrick taking his place in the centre (who I think will get another 30 mins or so to complete his comeback from injury)

Utd are still risking a lot at the back (2 decent chances for Rovers, one lethal one off the post)

Sounds like great goals though - Ronaldo for a hatrick?
