Most people wear casual (but tidy and clean) clothing to their interviews. I wore trousers and a white t-shirt. A suit is really not necessary. Part of the interview process involves walking around the shop and 'becoming a sales assistant' to evaluate you, so obviously something he feels comfortable in is important.
(Asking anything about the whole child labour thing, which people would be better educating themselves on the facts rather than trying to make jokes, is a bad idea)
Oh and it is also VERY boring working there.
