Call of Duty 4 or Crysis?

I would go for COD4 brilliant SP game, although short. But the multiplayer gives it a good life.

Crysis is good but it just like a prettier version of farcry and ten times more demanding.

If i had to choose i would go COD4.
 
i'd play both demos and decide for myself.

judging by the demos i would buy crysis. knowing that cod4 is a short single player game i can see myself waiting until it can be had for £10 or thereabouts. have you seen the price on steam?!

You can get COD4 for £20 delivered now. Crysis comes in at £25 so marginal difference, but I played COD 4 last night for around 2 hours and I have to say, it was one of the best and immersive experiences I've had from a shooter for a very long time. I have played the Crysis demo and to be perfectly honest I really don't see what the big deal is. Sure, it looks good, but it's the same old "Fight against humans, oh crap, Alien invasion" that's been done so many times before. The physics are good too and it will definitely change the way games are played now, but to be perfectly honest that's really about it.

Play the demo of both games, but I am fairly certain that once the novelty of the destructable environments wears off in Crysis, COD4 will probably be what you go for.

Btw, what the hell is up with the dodgy ragdoll effects in Crysis? Seriously, if you're releasing a game and making a huge deal out of the physics, it makes sense to ensure that the simple things like the ragdoll effects are sorted out. People dying with their arms up in the air as if they've been stricken instantly by rigor mortis is a bit shoddy.

I like CoD but... I hate always getting shot in the arse. In MP someone always spawns behind me and shoots me in the arse and in SP the constantly respawning enemies keep circling behind me and shooting me in the arse. And if there are no enemies then their dogs bite me in the arse. I have complete control of the situation every time then my screen starts to flicker red and next thing I know I'm face down with no arse. It's so frustrating.
But it's still great so get it.
 
I'ev played both of them through, and the Crysis campaign feels so much more epic, and much more freeform gameplay, very interesting :)
CoD4 is also a great campaign, but it loses just a bit to Crysis in my eyes.
Just the last fight in Crysis works so well for me.

If you like sublime mp shooters then COD4, been waiting for a good infantry only(yup I know few jeeps etc until the exp came out) mp shooter since Black hawk down.

Having played both, its really hard to recommend either of them, as they are imo two of the finest games you can buy......but if i had to buy one it'd be cod4

I used to be extremely excited about Crysis, I still want it but I have decided to get it in a month or two, when I upgrade.

Also take this into consideration, CoD4 MP is universally loved, it really is fantastic. I also loved the Crysis MP beta, but it seems to be a bit of a marmite baguette.
 
COD 4 looks better too me , gameplay wise even looks allot better gfxwise to me.

people keep raving about crysis water and trees etc but it just doesnt look right at all imo
 
I have played Call of Duty 4 all the way through and online, I can say that it is the best game i have played in a very long while, Take into consideration i have only played the demo and mp beta of Crysis and i feel that was, A heck of a lot better than the COD4 demo, although demo's are no way to compare games.

Your best bet is to simply choose at random, its too difficult a choice to be honest.
